SDS started four left-handed batters in their conference championship game lineup with UNLV.

why give SDSU time to prepare?

How do you think this changes their preparation?

Duh, they're going to have the lefty coach throw BP now.

ETA: For real though, they should have someone pulling all of his appearances from the watch ESPN app and break them down. If they have a video coordinator, which most colleges don't.

All they're really going to do is reach out to coaches they know and get a scouting report. Maybe talk to some players that would have faced him in the Northwoods league last year, if there are any.

Exactly, they’re not going to prepare much differently.

Their website doesn't list a video coordinator for baseball, or any other sport except football.

That is an interesting start by SDSU... I think he has been a mid week guy. Odd strategy for a #3 seed.

Paul Mainieri says both Hilliard and AJ Labas are questionable for the regional. Both are traveling, but have thrown to “mixed results” this week. #LsU

Which is why he will probably go Bush, Beck, Fontenot, Peterson on Friday. All of them may not be needed but that will probably be who all is gonna go if needed on Friday. They'll need to keep Sanders ready to start incase Labas and Hilliard cant go

Should be a nice matchup. Fernandez does not have great numbers, so our hitters should have some success against him. Bush has certainly had his moments for us. This is a good decision.

Why does LSU always end up with sore armed pitchers, pitchers needing surgery, etc. every year???? something seems to be wrong/lacking somewhere!

Because the ncaa seeding committee and espn hate LSU?

And you can expect to be 4-5 runs down before M, pulls Bush which is typical M. Always, and i mean Always leaves his pitchers in the game to long, some loyalty thing i don't know, but it usually takes 1 maybe 2 endings to gauge whether or not a pitcher is on or not. Why no Hilliard? Some said he is injured. Shoulder soreness. We already had Walker gone and then lost Storz and now Labas, can't afford to lose Hilliard too.

You one of those people where Bush can throw 3 shut out innings, go back out for the 4th, walk a batter, give up a hit, then a home run and you will bitch and cry on here about he should have taken Busch out sooner right? Because warming up pitchers can be done in 5 seconds, and CPM should KNOW that Busch was going to run into trouble after his third consecutive shut down inning.

I understand the move. He probably figures he has to be OSU twice regardless of what happens, so he may as well try to line up his two best pitchers to do it. LSU has a better chance of beating SDSU with its #3 starter than it does beating OSU with its #3 starter.
