Missing the big dance makes the season a let down for me.
Not making the NIT? Worse than my worst case scenario before the season began.
Hope they sneak in.

as hilarious as arkansas losing to south carolina was, it may screw us out of the postseason

If alleva wasn't such a dick head we could go to the CBI if we aren't picked.
a few extra games for mickey and martin would be good

I posted last night that a person involved with the bball team said we won't be in because Tennessee had squeezed us out. But this morning I read in ESPN bracket watch that Tenn "should" be in. And that it's even possible that the "eye test" would put Arky or Mizzou in!
Apparently the "eye test" looks beyond tournament/conference title (especially if same team wins both). It looks at WHO you beat, WHO you lost to and by how much. One of those crazy situations where people are left thinking "what the hell is the selection committee thinking?".
Anyway two NIT bracketologists are assuming Tenn are in NCAAT and LSU is as a 5 seed.
One has us vs Southern Miss the other at Clemson.
How they know this I've no idea.
Neither have LA Tech. But this is as of yesterday
According to one of the sites anything from 6th seed and below is subject to losing their NIT spot.
Let's hope for Tenn and at least GA or Arky in NCAAT too

Ole miss season is over, they have a terrible rpi and like no quality wins.
Nit will take probably no more than 3 sec teams.
Uf, tenn, florida are in the tourney. If we want to make the nit, we need to hope either arkansas, mizzou, or uga makes the big dance

Serious question: Sun Belt Championship...
If ULL wins the tournament today, does Georgia State still get an NCAA bid? Reg season champs and a 25-8 record.
Best case for LSU is some of these regular season champs getting an at large NCAA bid

quote:Well, if it is between LSU and Ole Miss LSU has a couple of marque names in Obryant and Mickey, Ole Miss has Henderson. From an historical standpoint LSU has much of a brand name. They appear to be the classic NIT team, an ascending program with good young players who have not yet learned to play consistently. How many smaller conference champs got knocked off in their tourneys? That could play a part. Has there been a historical limit on the number of teams from one conference?
arkansas, missouri and georgia are locks, that leaves lsu and ole miss. then you factor in all the regular season champs who lost in their conference tourneys and the spots start to dry up.

hopefully we get a good time and location. obviously little to no chance we host, but hoping for a better draw than at oregon on tuesday like last time...that is if we get in this year.
The better team doesnt always host.
BC came to McNeese a few years ago bc they didnt submit a bid at all.
Its an outside chance, but if LSU bid and their opponent did not, then LSU can host.

Ole Miss would get a bid to the NIT before LSU mainly because of their tournament run last season.

UGA is interesting.
They've been given no respect by the NCAAT bracketologists - not appeared on any bubble watches. Even when being 3rd in conference. Seeded as low as 6th in the NIT at one point, slowly worked up to a 3. They really came on at the latter half of the season, but had poor OOC schedule and played sub 100 RPI teams, which seems to have killed their Tourney chances.
Their coach did a great job of improving his team IMO.
But no chance at NCAA.
Possible they bump LSU out.

yea i remember that, kentucky played at rob morris last year too
even if we were a top 4 seed i dont know if the PMAC has arrangements already in place or not. if we do get in i think we'll be a 6 seed though.
