No one concerned that waiting may cost us a shot at a top notch DC. Or will waiting possibly help us get one?

with the exception of co-DCs, Miles has made pretty good decisions with regards to assistant coaches. I'm not worried at all.

Waiting could mean that the coach we are getting is still coaching...

Plus, it isn't like Miles is the only coach that can win at LSU. So, if he screws this up he'll be gone in a few years anyway and we can bring in another person to continue the legacy.

yea our class is hella good, it won't hurt to protect it with the current staff. recruits are more likely to leave if staff changes are made than if a team loses a bowl game

agreed....

Meanwhile any coach worth a damn will be gone, ALA last season. He put himself and LSU behind the 8 ball by waiting. Here we go again!

i agree had this team not quit on him then he might be able to bring his friends back just based on the title. now i don't think so. IMO he has someone lined up and everything but he wants to still be loyal to his retard buddies. they get the bowl bonus and then leave. then real dc comes in and miles is safe for a year

just a thought - what if he has a DC picked? after the bowl game he makes that announcement and sends the other guys back to their regular position coaching(does he has room for the DC?)he can then run another year and then let the new DC shake the defensive staff up if needed. Either way, he mantains continuity through the recruitment period and make sure the recruits get here and are not shaken up by mass coaching changes.

no that is a horrible idea. mallveto needs to be gone. they will be a cancer going back to their positions. the players have lost respect for them and quit on them they need to move on.

What this means is that our offense will need to score 70+ to win in Atlanta. The defense will go to Atlanta without any coaching and totally unprepared. What is the current line in Vegas??

Which legacy? The one Saban got going and Miles built on? Or the Archer/Hallman/DiNardo legacy, which this year Miles seemingly is falling into?

One of the most assinine statements I have ever heard...

So if you are a CEO of a company and you are losing money hand over fist, you wait until the fiscal year is over before you make changes? No, you do not. You make the appropriate moves to make your company profitable immediately

What exactly do you think a new DC will be able to acheive in 3 weeks? No time to implement a new scheme and expect the players to learn it well enough to see an improvement. If they put a new defensive scheme in place for the bowl game I say GT would put up 50 on us pretty easily. Let them play out the last game and then make changes. No need making the players even more frustrated and confused than they already are.

Les is loyal to his staff.
Could be the new DC is coaching in another bowl game.
If the new D. coach is bringing staff with him allowing our coaches a chance to shine will help them get rehired. Sink or swim baby!!!
Would you want to step into this LSU situation just before the bowl game... not ideal.
