If it's $500k in NIL, that's an extra $23k in their pocket without the tax. Not chump change.

First of all, I live in Virginia, so this impacts me ZERO PERCENT.

I was perfectly fine leaving you imbeciles alone although you humiliate the rest of us trying to live here on the regular but won't stay quiet now that your hand is in my pocket. I am not alone with this.
And I bet you (and a lot of others who oppose this), will be bitching and screaming THE LOUDEST when we are losing recruits by not passing this law.
I'm sorry if the University of Alabama can afford cuter boys than your squad. You just have to accept it. Get another job maybe so you can afford them too? I don't care but you have no right to take from me to pay for it.

There is ZERO PERCENT chance this law doesn't pass.
Keep melting.
Keep melting.

Ah, but I'm a HUGE LSU fan and want us to remain elite.
So do you (you are in fact on an LSU sports board), but you and others are too busy preaching from your soap box.
The law will pass, and you'll be ok. You won't even remember this in the long run. And you'll be glad we're "keeping up with the Jonse's" whether you're aware of it or not.

You seem proud to be a welfare queen now. Bragging about it even.
For decades the universal reply when complaining about the resources being misallocated to the football team was to point out that none of it was tax dollars. It was all private. TAF and all that didn't need tax dollars! Our fans are just as rich as the others!
Well I guess not. We're still the poors we always were, the difference is you can't pretend any more.

So, the 18 y/o waiting tables to pay for his/her tuition or living expenses has to pay taxes? Yet, the18 y/o illiterate scholarship player (that, other than sports, has no business being on a college campus), that’s being paid for doing nothing, and that’s already receiving a full ride and a shite ton of other perks might be exempt from state income taxes…?
Hell of a time we’re living in ….

So, offer them $600k

The only "fetish" I have is a get me the best players for LSU fetish. All of your protests to the contrary are duly noted.
The fact that you're posting here indicates you have an above average interest in LSU sports. If we slip a few notches due to having our players pay taxes when our opponents don't, you'll be SCREAMING to fire the coach.
Once again Melissa, I'm not saying the law is right OR fair, but its a necessity to keep us competitive, and all of your bellyaching Ain't gonna change the fact this shite will get passed.

Yes that does solve the problem. Do you think we're gonna be able to pay the tax for these guys in that way and be able to afford them compared to schools without this obstacle????

In one of my last 10 posts, I've stated that I work and pay taxes, and I understand IN PRINCIPAL why this is wrong. And I've never been on welfare in my life.
However, we need to compete. And we won't be able to as effectively without this law being passed.
Several other states didn't have a problem with this law. Neither will Louisiana.
As an LSU fan, you'll be a lot happier in the long run with this law. You're just too caught up in the moment of trying to fight city hall right now.

It certainly will be unopposed. Good luck trying to convince these mouth breathers of that though.

No I just refuse to do it as a boycott.
Of course I do, and I'm on ZERO public assistance.
As much as you people are bitching, you'll be bitching 100 times as loud when we become Mississippi MOTHERFLUCKING State in football if this isn't passed.

I was in favor of allowing college athletes to make money, but the current state of NIL is a shitshow.
