You can tell this thread is littered with old white people. I make that walk from the dome to the quarter all the time. Taking several different routes in between poydras and canal over the years. Stop clutching your pearls Nancy

Not an option. Didn't you hear? The Destroya said that they are so short on police that they may cancel Mardi Gras.

Like we did when LSU played BYU in the Dome, we are staying in the Hilton Riverside and walking to and from the game on Poydras.

I used to live in the French quarter and work across the street from the super dome. I would regularly walk around during all hours of the day/night. The only time I had a wtf moment was when there was a dead body on the ground in the business district at around 7:15 AM on my walk to work.

Walking that route after a game with all the people is plenty safe.

A literal 'WAR ZONE.' You should stay far far away.

I bet 80% of these comments are from people who don’t even live or visit New Orleans frequently. Yeah New Orleans could be safer but you will be fine walking in the CBD with a major event like that.

Poydras and Loyola - murder at 6 pm rush hour a couple months ago.
Rampart and Canal - corner of chronic middle of the day murders.
Rape right in front of a cop in the Quarter
Just a few examples.
Don’t be fooled. Keep your eyes wide open. Stay in a crowd.

Straight down Poydras to Harrah’s as there will be plenty of company. Just don’t detour or slow your pace. Keep moving you will be fine,

There will be an army of people walking that direction. Put your wallet in your front pocket and enjoy the celebratory parade of people heading that way.

Bulletproof vest under your LSU polo, make sure you are concealed strapped. Look people in the eye and walk confidently. I wouldn’t overthink it. Hope you have a great time!
