LSU got a couple weeks more of practice. Hopefully we see some younger talent get extended playing time.

Bowl games were originally a treat/reward for the invited teams and a money maker for the tourist economy of the city hosting.
TV led an expansion in 50s-70s, and cable allowed even more to start from the 80s on up.
The playoff push and expansion has jaded the average fan, however they still make money for the host.
But the players aren’t the same. There was more love of the game by the players. It was a bonus game. Now it’s an economic decision even to play, or an emotional tantrum to decline if snubbed for the playoffs.

I mean so is half the season for alot of teams, guess thry shouldn't play those games either???

That has nothing to do with the bowl game. Hes part of the 2025 roster so they have every right to play in a 2025 scheduled game.

He and several other have "done something else"....they bitched on a message board and I bet everyone of them will be watching some of the "useless non-playoff bowl games".

It’s all about money my man, why do you think they’re expanding the CFP,

They're actually fun games to watch the young guys play.

They are pretty useless.
At least the Texas bowl has a lot of regional interest between LSU and Houston. I imagine other bowls try to strategize for similar matchups and ticket sales?

Only watching a couple. Just commenting like NSaban said "Once there are playoffs many other bowl games are irrelevant." Kinda like Spring games.

Bowl games have been around for 120 years. 99 percent of them included teams that had no shot at being deemed a champion. So why all of a sudden is it useless and a waste of time?

LSU’s bowl game has been extremely useful to the incoming staff. They’ve been able to watch practices and evaluate players with their own eyes.
