Hey quick, someone show our best plays against Bama last year.
You use whatever it takes to get past a team.

Serious question, was the success of those plays based on the novelty or based on having three successful NFL running backs on the field at the same time?

Run it with a backup safety.

it succeeded because of having triple options every play WITH a MOBILE guy who could also throw. yes mcfadden could make some throws. it destroyed teams whilst also spreading teams out

HEY GUYS!!!
I think we found a new position for Jacoby Stevens

I say you scrap it at this point.
If the coaches feel mid season they need something like that in the playbook they can install something then. Just like we did with Williams last year.
A simple package like that can be put in during a game week. I recall doing that exact same thing in high school and we were able to execute it well in the upcoming game. I'm sure SEC football players and D1 coaches would have no problem doing this.
And that could be a nice wrinkle against a bigger opponent if we haven't used the formation in any previous games and we feel it'll be effective against them.

And 100% reason to remember the name.

again mcfadden could throw some which made it harder to defend and they spread field with jet sweep motions giving them a

Not really, because A) whoever the QB was he wouldn't have been as big a treat running the ball as Darren fricking McFadden. and B) the novelty of a running back throwing the ball and surprising the defense would be lost when you put in a player whose job description includes throwing the ball.
Wanting to bring in a cold QB to run the Wildcat a few times a game is foolish.
Justifying wanting to do it by citing a generational college running back talent is downright idiotic.

one of these days, sports analysts will figure out how the saints, patriots, steelers, etc have won superbowls without a wildcat package.

fricking seriously.

Maybe I'm wrong because I'm too lazy to look it up, but didn't D. Williams run pretty good out of the wildcat last year? I'm not saying it should be on the top page of the arm band, but It's a good play when your qb get's his helmet ripped off.

Skip the wildcat. Unless there's a credible threat of a pass, all it does is telegraph a run.

From Narcisse. If they were planning on a wildcat package, and that is out the window with Narcisse, now who runs that package? Or is it a dead issue?
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the wildcat hasn’t been a prominent formation in college football for a few years now. Defenses have learned how to contain it.

Clearly you don’t know know Fat Bastard. He’s a football prodigy and loves to tell everyone how dumb they are. I guess I’m just a dummy compared to the Bastard because I still don’t get his explanation of how Canada revealed pass coverages on running plays.
