He looked confident and in control but most of his passes were short yard slant and curl type passes. Looked way better than he did against southern

Unless he changes somehow, Daniels will be the limiting factor of the offense. That said he appears to be the best choice at this time.

So many on TD get so emotional about the team/specific players that they are unable to take an objective view.

What do you mean by “tearing down”? Cite some examples.

Thanks

U mean like they did with Booty. Lol

I thought he was too. When he went in I thought to myself it would be great if Nuss and JD were to meld into one mind where Nuss has zero fear of letting it lose think his WR is going to defeat any coverage and make a play and JD is scared he's reading it wrong and that uncovered guy is actually covered by a DB with cloaking technology.

But Nuss came in and played within the play, didn't make any stupid reads, and was very sharp with his intermediate passes (which JD has struggled with but has showed improvement).

I know the sideline announcer said New Mexico's D was extremely tired shortly after Nuss got in, but that was his best outing for LSU as far as accuracy goes. He has had big issues with hitting even short passes due to accuracy issues, so it was great to see him nail his passes and be very accurate after the bad Southern outing. He might not have thrown it way down the field, but the passes he did make were very good and he made good decisions. He is one hit away from going in at any time, so we need him to progess.

I was responding to what that poster said which was

To say that I would rather LSU lose than watch JD play like an actual QB is laughable. I just want someone who can throw the ball down the field, use the middle of the field, go past the first read, throw guys open etc... JD ain't that guy. He hasnt made one anticipation throw all year.

Very little of this is true. He isn’t going to win the Heisman but to say so definitively that he hadn’t made one anticipation throw or he can’t throw downfield (that bomb to Nabers in the Moo State game comes to mind) and all that other stuff isn’t true.

Just support both QBs. That’s all I was saying.

disingenuous, Just as disingenuous as all the idiots shite talking Daniels performance

One is the starter and one is not. Daniels has ZERO anticipation and will be a liability against pressing corners. His inability to complete passes beyond 10 yards will kill this team. YAC is great except it won’t hold up when there is no threat to deep throws. If I’m a SC, I’m putting my corners on an island and pinning my ears back with 7-8 in the fricking box. You want to beat LSU? Do that.

If Daniels continues to win, but plays pretty much the same game, putting up the same stats, our receivers with draft hopes will be hitting the portal looking for a team that can showcase their talents.

Is this some kind of reverse psychology thing? Because if I’m Denbrock, that’s exactly what I want an opposing DC to try to do.

Daniels has since the beginning spread the ball around. And it has gotten better every week. Some of the early problems were because of the WRs not being on the same page and not doing their job properly.

But when Boutte wasn't on the field and JD didn't have instructions to "get him involved", things went a lot more smoothly. Hell, even Kole Taylor was making plays and getting targets.

I see little in the way of anticipatory throws from JD. He often waits until the receivers are open. This could be the result of his limited abilities to decipher defensive coverages which would allow him to know what to expect and who should be open.

Solid, but it was a bad, tired, defeated defense.
So not sure it's something to get excited about yet. We'll see

How quickly they grew tired after Noose came into the game.

I absolutely noticed that he was getting the ball to the receivers much faster and it was evident the receivers were getting more YAC.

After this year it doesn’t matter. Howard takes the reigns next year.
