Russell imo has been overrated by the fan base because he was the number one pick as much as people think he is a bust because of the flame out. He was drafted mostly on potential, not on what he did at LSU.
Russell
QB Rating: 147.94
Comp %: 61.86%
TD:INT: 52:21 (2.47)
YPA: 8.31
Flynn
QB Rating: 133.04
Comp %: 56.06%
TD:INT: 31:13 (2.38)
YPA: 7.08
Hodson
QB Rating: 136.32
Comp %: 57.95%
TD:INT: 69:41 (1.68)
YPA: 7.84

People's opinions are wrongly affected by his NFL disaster, but none of that matters. He crushed it when he was here. And not only racked up impressive stats, but he made some big-time pressure game-winning throws.

JaMarcus Russell threw the prettiest pass I have ever seen, at any level.
There’s no way he shouldn’t be right after Burrow.

No Andrew Hatch? List is shite

The entire rankings are BS.
All the QBs who played for Charlie Mac and Miles should get a boost.
Anyone who would rate Burrow ahead of Jones and Hodson does not understand the difference in receiver talent on their teams.
Those three would be at the top of my list.

You have to rank them based on what they actually did on the field, and not guess how they'd do in Brady's system with Chase, Jefferson, CEH, etc.

I’d put Hodson at 2.
Idk why you got downvoted for this, numbers back it up, I realize he was a 4 year starter so the numbers are tilted but he smokes Bert Jones.

I don't have time to compare stats but these 4...
below these..
is incorrect...
quote:
12. Jeff Wickersham
13. Alan Risher
I would reverse the order of these two.
14. David Woodley
15. Jarrett Lee
below these..

10. Herb Tyler
11. Danny Etling

Jamarcus Russell got absolutely robbed of a Heisman that year. At least he beat Brady Quinn in the bowl to prove it. Russell should definitely be higher on the list. Top 5 easily, top 3 possibly.
Also, Jordan Jefferson is a bit underrated based on his actual career and how successful he was. People mostly remember the title game and the bad moments, but he had some stellar games as well. He was pretty lethal running the ball when he needed to, and he honestly was a lot better than a lot of people want to admit at this point. Lee is a tad high on the list.
Disappointed we don't have an Andrew Hatch sighting on there somewhere (kidding!)

He gets a bad wrap for being one of the biggest busts in NFL history, but as an LSU QB, Jamarcus is to 5.
Just because Mauk and Flynn won national titles doesn’t automatically make them better QBs

The can see Hodson being #2 but Russel should be no worse than 3.

I thought he was asking for opinions. Didn't realize it was opinions based on success of the team.
If that is the criteria.
Rabb, Mauck, Flynn, and Burrow
The rest is just subjective.
Those were best and the trophy room proves it.

A whole lot of stupid on that list. I guess it's based off of success of the team ? There are some awful QBs on that list.... and Bert Jones was the GOAT LSU QB !

Gimme Rohan over Mett
Posted on 3/29/21 at 3:42 pm to blueridgeTiger
What I have seen top 10
(edited yards game average rough)
1. Joe Burrow (373)1
2. JaMarcus Russell (240)4
3. Rohan Davey (275)2
4. Zach Mettenberger (250)3
5. Matt Flynn (200)5
6. Matt mauck (200)5
7. Herb Tyler (200)5
8. Danny etling (185)8
9. Marcus randle (100)9
10. Jarret lee (100)9
(If myles completed season at his numbers he would be rated #4 for me, maybe #3 or #2 if he had a little more pocket awareness, he was on a tear averaging over 360 yards per game 10games would have out him over 3600 yards in a 10game season against sec conference schedule)
What could have been
*Myles brennan 360 yards per game his only three starts
*Ryan perilou never started a game but at times he played better and had some better throws that mauck did. If he hadnt made some dumb decisions would have been in the nfl and be up there with burrow davey and russle as best qbs in purp n hold
