Finding roster spots is one thing but aren’t you coming into more difficulty when you’re exchanging a walk on roster spot for a guy you’ve promised scholarship money too? Seems like it would spread thinner than what has been promised to these kids
This is my biggest concern. There may not be enough money to go around since we’ll probably have a handful of guys on the roster who we didn’t expect to make it through the draft, both from the class and existing players. As a result we’re probably going to end up losing someone from the class that we would like to keep.

What are you talking about? I typed Latz name, when I meant to type Labas. Didn't go on for pages talking about Latz like he was a current player.

Just saying you probably shouldn’t be calling other people ranter

That's a dangerous game to play, and is usually left to rantards, who seem to get a kick out of trashing players and coaches.
Look at the list, think of who played/didn't play during a down year, and you can kind of form your own opinion.
Jesus, it's a sports message board. Get over yourself

Yes, because mispelling a players name, and calling Labas Latz (after just discussing people comparing Labas and Stortz to Latz) is much worse than say..... Arguing for 10 pages that Reid is better than Slaughter.
Anyway, moving on.

It's beyond time that the scholarship limit be increased.
But you have these fricktards in other parts of the country that don't even fully fund the 11.7 that push against increases because they'll fall further behind the big boys.
WHO GIVES A shite!!!!!!!!

So just because its a message board makes it ok to shite on players, and make baseless assumptions when I don't know nearly as much as the people around the program daily?

Is Mainieri bringing in Mac Marshall as a guest speaker

We've done it every year without much fanfare. Sometimes, people get called out for pretending to know more than they do, but that shouldn't stop others from speculating. It's a relevant topic that isn't even limited to message boards.
makes it ok to shite on players

Reid was playing better than Slaughter & as I said at the time, deserved to lose his job if he fell off. Tape don’t lie. Thread only goes that long because I had a sound argument.

That's all fine and dandy. Just some posters take it too far. I've looked at the list myself, and came up with my own thoughts. I just don't make a habit of posting them (even though I wouldn't be necessarily be shitting on players by doing it).

I think the players know who played, who didn’t, and where they are on the depth chart.

An argument could have been made both ways at the time. Not saying a case couldn't be made for Reid. However, now that the dust has settled, you were wrong.
So, don't throw stones from your glass house, especially on an obvious mistake and spelling error.

I personally prefer not to do it, for multiple reasons. But it usually does devolve into some people just shitting on guys.
If I think a guy may not be back, I try to explain the legitimate reasons behind it. Like with Moffitt. It may have been a one year deal from the getgo. Potentially the same with Doughty, and I only say that about Doughty because he's the only other one we know is a walk on.
TBH, I was a little surprised that Reese was back this year. He didn't throw much as a freshman and was really bad in the Northwoods league.
Nowak and Petersen threw a combined like 10 innings. If they were getting any scholarship this past season, it's going to be re-appropriated to someone that will contribute.
ETA: Also, I think the absolutely difficult time I had finding summer league destinations for guys this year means that some of them knew they weren't long for this team.

That's what I'm getting at.
If you started that thread you can have a solid discussion, but shite will eventually start being thrown all over the place.
And honestly, at this point, there is so much in the air that we could end up needing to cut nobody at all by the time its all said and done. So why start a shite fest for no reason?
