The Oklahoma game from Minute Maid is the rants least favorite LSU baseball win ever.

I also wonder if Crews gets the $10 mil he wanted or settles closer to the $9m slot value.

He and the Nats will probably both "settle" for something in between what he wants and slot value if I had to guess.

Dylan doesn't have a ton of leverage besides one of/the best sports agent, but neither do the Nats. Imagine drafting Crews and not getting a deal done over a few hundred K

So if CJ gets drafted today and goes pro he just didn’t want to play college ball at this point?

Obviously Praying he comes just don’t want to get excited when we have been burned so many times

Eh, not signing him would basically torpedo their entire draft.

No point speculating on the roster, the only person that counts is Jay who has to make the difficult decisions.
Some players see the writing on the wall and will move on.
There are several pitchers on the roster that probably need to move on if they want an increased role and there are plenty of smaller schools they could get the innings they want.
Some of these decisions might not be made until after fall ball.
For some players, getting that degree outweighs the decision of moving on at this stage before the deadline closes.
Most that end up transferring before deadline likely wanted to see how the draft played out before making any decision even it means not being able to move within the SEC.

If all signees, transfers, undrafted players to this point and yet to be named transfers make it to campus in the fall we would have close to 30 pitchers on the roster.

They are at 25 pitchers on the roster as of right now. That includes Edwards who will not be pitching next season. Chase Shores availability is also up in the air. Last report is that he thinks he can be back by SEC tourney. They may keep him out all season if need be. Depends on how his recovery and rehab is going come February.

True, but Dylan not signing torpedoes his bonus next year

The Nats are essentially saving $300K on Dugas alone. They are paying Crews every bit of his slot.

He's going to get over slot, but I don't know if they go all the way to his $10mm number is what I was saying

"Crews settles..." His agent is Scott Boras. He seldom if ever "settles"; just the opposite, many of his clients don't sign till the very last moment & never for less money.

Sure but I'm still not sold he's getting $1m over the slot. He will get over slot but probably not that much.

I think his $10M number was specifically for the Pirates at 1.1. Not necessarily a hard number he had in his head. Not the same situation as HS kid like Johnson or Brown saying that want $3M and sticking to that number.

Slots are fun. Just never stick anything in a crazy slot.

New question: how long for Dugas to sign and start playing? (Ballpark estimate)

Funny you mention it bc when I’m the grocery store sometimes I’ll remark to the cashier that he or she has armside run to their scanning motion

They don’t seem to grasp what a skill that is

Probably by next week. Pitchers a lot of time get shut down (sometimes their contracts don't start til the next calendar year to give the org some wiggle room on MILB player caps). It's possible he gets shut down too because of his shoulder. Who knows. With the draft being later there isn't as big an emphasis on getting guys on the field immediately.

Yea, I wouldn't expect him to be in a huge rush. Even if they do play this season it is normally just to keep them active. Next season is when it will all really start. I'm curious to see if him and Crews both start in rookie ball or if Crews will start in A+. I wouldn't be shocked if Crews plays A+ to finish this year and start at the AA level next season.
