Everything is relative and it cannot get much worse

Hope the new staff is pulling the blocking sleds out of the storage room, dusting them off and putting to use.

This board went nuts when Davis was hired
I'll admit I thought it was a really good hire. It looked really favorable. But it didn't take long to admit I was wrong.

I never heard of him. Is he good? Hope so.
Mixed reviews. Kentucky guys are not impressed. I can’t see him doing any worse than BD.

I haven't seen anything but other fanbases saying Wolford is absolutely terrible. Kentucky and Bama fans say he's one of the worst position coaches they've had in recent memory.
Someone pulled stats for this guy, but the rushing and pass pro statistics get worse under him. He apparently prefers big, slow OL and their technique got worse under him.
Normally I'd say "ah that's just salty rival fanbases", but it's been unanimous and some very level headed posters have said it from both UK and Bama. These aren't my words, but I hope they're all wrong. Seems we could've done better though.

Development was his real problem. In fact he seemed to make them worse.
Couldn’t develop or teach a center for his life. If a guy came in who hadn’t already been a center (Chester, or Echols who was projected to be a center), they couldn’t learn it. The only way the coaches could get a serviceable center was through the portal.
Whiffing on blocks, not knowing assignments, getting run over, not getting hands on defenders, and when they did they held.
Those guys weren’t 5 stars or high 4 stars with offers from every program without being very talented. At least some of them should have been good.
The only good players on the line were either already developed elsewhere (portal players), in spite of BD (Campbell and Jones) or ones that were at LSU before BD got there

Yeah, that’s why I said mixed reviews. Posters say one thing, but apparently he was recommended by Saban to LK. I’ll withhold judgement for now.
Why didn’t LK retain his OL coach from OM?

That is a message board rumor, no one has confirmed Saban recommended him. It was a "he worked for Saban and Saban and Lane talk a lot, he must've recommended him".
I don't think Saban was happy with his job performance at Alabama, so I have my doubts he recommended him.

Is Chester gone too? Asking for a friend.
Maybe Wilford make something out of Chester.

Chester, Davis and Curne were all very highly recruited. 95+ star rating. And they've all been absolutely terrible.
And maybe we've had the bad luck that they're all just not very good and didnt match the ranking. But man. Thats a lot of highly ranked OL recruits to go full bust in a short time under one coach.

Regardless, he’s here now, so I’ll withhold judgment.

Maybe we can actually have an offensive line now instead of that bad joke we had last season.
The OL was so bad that it was painful to watch.

Best believe that Kiffin inquired to Saint Nick on this OL hire.
