Student turn out is down right ridiculous. 10 kids at the most. I know its a young season but its been like this since last year.

BB games are really easy to get to if you are a student. Back in the 80s I would typically study in the library until game time and walk over to the Maravich Center (then Assembly Center). I had a part time job (sometimes 2 depending on the year), was going for a Biochemistry degree then went to law school and still went to the games. Granted, the team had a consistent winning history in the 80s but this team is as good as anything Brown had. Shaq's FR season was more talented but they were all young and didn't have a good leader on that team. This team's got talent, experience and depth. I also see more designed plays run by this team than ever before. If I were still in BR I'd be taking my kids to these games.

Dude the year we went to the Sweet 16 with Stromile and Jabari it was late January or early February before people started to show up for games.....give it time if the team keeps winning people will show eventually. That is just the way it is with LSU basketball. It will take consistently winning for several years to change that IMO.

I think we are on the brink of getting the support back.

Because of that, your anger is misplaced.

I agree with you, but it's early. I think once the SEC schedule starts, we will see more people at the games. I wish I was able to attend every home game.

Make every conference game a student priority point game. Problem solved.

Sadly, the end of the Brown era, and the duration of the Brady era lost a generation of fans. I got to lsu the first post shaq season so had a front row seat for it

If we could have followed up the sweet 16 year or final 4 year with anythinh, maybe its different. But the cellar dwelling seasons that followed wiped out the support. Not to mention the uab loss and even dayton in the nit

i really really really don't get why Athletic dept doesn't do this.....I mean shite, they'll be there if you do this....

Is there thought process that it's not fair to do this bc some students won't be able to make it????

I think we had a chance to do something after the Final 4 year. I remember the UConn game that next season was packed. But then we crapped the bed in SEC play.

Think about it. In the past 20 seasons, we've made the NCAA Tourny 5 times. That's a whole generation of fans that don't ever remember us being consistently good in hoops.

Maybe you have not been to any games so you havent seen, but the people who arent students are showing up. These excuses that yall are giving do not apply. The students are the problem. Hopefully for the tennessee game they will offer the top sections of the student section to the public for $5/ticket. That is too big of a game to have those sections be totally empty.

I'm not a student or a student sympathizer, but this is a cop out as much as any student excuse.

The upper bowl is nowhere close to full. The lower bowl has plenty of seats available.

To blame the problem on students alone is an injustice to the Basketball team. The support is not there. The students need to show up, the general admission needs to show up. There are plenty of seats all over.

You could even go out on a limb and say the media needs to show up. The media section is only about half full for any game as well...

Do not try to blame the problem on a group that you do not belong to, because the problem is stadium wide.

Hey man, I completely agree with ya. I was there on Saturday and try I make every home game that I can. However, this is Christmas break. BR is a fricking ghost town at this time, especially campus area. You know this. With that being said, though, I hope the Deaf Dome is rockin on January 7th when we open conference play against Tennessee.

No kidding. This makes it sound like we have sell outs all over the arena... There are thousands of tickets that go unsold every game.

UAB had 8,400 sold seats, highest of year. That still means there were 4,800 unsold tickets.

For november and december games the crowds have been very encouraging. Yes there are empty seats, but you cant expect to have a packed pmac for these games this year. Its obvious that they are getting more and more support from the nonstudents and getting none from the students. The student turnout has bern absolutely pathetic, the rest has not been pathetic. There is no arguing this.

There absolutely is arguing this. nonstudent turnout hasn't been much better in my opinion than any recent year. I was hoping for MUCH more out of our fanbase.

Student turnout was miserable for UAB, but the priority point game they had earlier had students filling the lower and middle bowl sections and some seeping into top bowl. It is a stadium wide epidemic and not nearly as "student oriented" as you are trying to believe.
