Oh, yeah, sorry, Yvette... YOU left.

If that's true...IF that's true, then I kinda get it. But that shite should've been talked out and Joe should've told YG what was up.

IFFFFFF that's true....

A poster said that as a joke yesterday and apparently this guy bought it and is passing it off as scoop now.

Saintsfan22, Rummel and other contributors, guess this thread came to a peaceful end, but after 220 posts on this non profit sport -softball, guess this is a testiment to the fact LSU does care about the sport and the job JA is doing trying to make us a class attraction for years to come.

Softball and our team are fun to watch and like anything else, a matter of getting involved, which like any sport, makes you a fan.

Next season....beat bama!

Rumor.....YG wanted to retain the softball camp (a huge revenue stream). PM not happy.

Really doubt this is true with this situation, but this is exactly what Skip did when he retired and many feel this is part of the reason we ended up with Smoke instead of a better coach.

That was the joke when that thread started, but apparently some people didn't get that it was a joke in the first place.

More than anything this just shows that Murphy is a bit of a flake. Not a huge shock...he's a fricking women's softball coach.

That Birmingham writer is off base. Alleva's reaction was fine. So was the Bama AD's. Any AD faced with a flake out like Murphy pulled has the right to be pissed.

What Randall said.

Not to sound prejudice towards women, but I actually want a male coach leading the program. Candrea, Murphy, the Florida coach, Clint Myers, etc...there is definitely a trend there in teh best coaches.

CAMP -agree with everything you said except being a softball coach is irrelevant.

Now if he was a politician, it might be different

It honestly sounds like he threw a little hissy fit about not being respected or something at Bama and feeling sorry for himself. In the interview clip on the news last night he came off as a little bit pathetic and weepy, talking about how much he cried and stuff. Creepy.

I've actually seen some other Bama commentary that is not as ecstatic that he's back, primarily because of the same reasons as us - seems kind of flaky. I'd imagine Mal Moore (or whatever of his minions bothers with softball) aren't too pleased with how he handled things. The one thing I don't get is why this Habetz chick has hooked her wagon to him come hell or high water. To just turn down an opportunity for your own gig after 13 years?!? Bizarre.

I am with you on this, it is quite strange. Especially with the tearful homecoming stuff at the press conference and now she is ready to bolt her home state again? I would think this has hurt her chances at a head coaching job in the future, but I could be wrong. Maybe she is ULL's next head coach because she surely won't get another shot here.

I think its more of an LSU-bama thing, there's probably been more replies in this thread than asses in seats at those games.

PM: (After a long pause) Well, next to my dad dying. Right there. I started with the seniors and that was bad, I can't tell you how difficult it was. I cried for two straight hours, basically. My trainer was in there, thank God and (Alabama director of softball operations) Kate Petullo, my ops lady. (Alabama assistant director of media relations) Skip (Powers) came in and out. It was bad.

I have to give her credit for NOT accepting a job if she didn't feel ready. Kuddos to her for leaving the door open for a "head" coach that IS ready for the job. She could have been selfish and taken the position, so that she could be back in her home state! In my opinion, she thought more about the LSU program than herself.

She's been an assistant for 12 years. She's plenty ready, just scared.

Ohhhh...

He's talking about Habetz - I thought he was trying to make a 'gay' joke about Murphy.

Doesn't really matter who's scared. LSU could have done better than Pat Murphy anyways....I think it's a win for LSU. What exactly has he done at Alabama?

Go for a coach in the PAC-10. If LSU wants to win that's what they need to do.
