All it takes is one foot in the door & that's what's happening here. Think back to all the changes that have taken place in TS, they all started off small, then, with no real bitching, they became permanent & bigger & bigger. Geaux to a Hornet's game & that's what we're looking at in 4-5 yrs. Count on it. Baseball's music for each batter has the tradition of major league ball behind it, as the majors has been doing that for yrs. TS does not need piped in music. Geaux sit in Ms.State or Auburn's stadiums & tell me that is change for the better.

It makes Tiger Stadium sound like a marginal stadium in the WAC, where people don't care about the game and have to be entertained by bad 1990's hip-hop.
Guess what? Tiger Stadium SOUNDS like a WAC stadium. There's no noise...nobody is getting into the game but for a couple of thousand. As far as I could tell from sitting in section 104 last Saturday, nobody is watching the game.
Deaf Valley is no more. It has nothing to do with piped in music, the stupid corny cheers, or day time on CBS.

FACT: The athletic department doesnt give 2 shits about what the rant has to say. The music will be in there as long as Alleva is here.
FACT: Hey dumb frick, there were more than a few guys in the stadium club making comments about it and how bush league it was. I'm pretty sure the athletic department gives a shite what those guys think.

That's what I said when I saw that stupid shite. Sorry...I'd rather hear Van Halen "Jump" play on the p.a. then hear that after every score/during a commercial break.
And anyway...this is very backseat to how poorly the team is playing and the coaches are coaching. Let's move on...

Elleshoe, it's not the announcement but the timing of the Wicks announcement that bugs me. Heck they can sing a song to the dude for all I care, just don't announce it while they are playing the Pre-Game drum lead in. It's not a radio station where they hit the mark or whatever DJs call it these days...it's the song that whips us into a fever pitch before our boys take the field. I say announce it before they step off, and let the song stand on it own.

You do realize that "Frank Wicks" is in ONE sentence and the rest of the introduction if for the GBFTL don't you? It freaking end with "The Golden Band from Tigerland."

a couple times when I like the piped in music
1: during some of the players warm ups.
2: Right before half when there is no band
3: Saturday when ole miss band starting playing late they cranked it up then it continuously got louder until we couldn't hear the ole miss band anymore. The TGBFTL started playing and the music stopped.

Yes, I do. And so do my friends who played in the band (JUMAS Lives). Doesn't change my opinion. Reimagine the announcement ending just as the drumline kicks in. much better.

Personally, I think that's another ticky-tack aspect of it.
If the SEC allows member schools to travel with their bands, and LSU allots places in the stadium for the visiting band, when we're getting our asses kicked by said visiting team, we should be forced to suck it up and listen to THEIR crappy songs.

No one suggested this stupid forum matters...but you assume that there are no influential players here or who share these feelings.
My boss is on the board of supervisors, can't wait to tell him how the overwhelming majority on this rant thread LOVE the piped in music. And that you all are suggesting more. So you're all in agreement then that LSU needs to add the following songs to the piped in play list - Journey "Don't Stop Believing", REO Speedwagon "I can't Fight Feeling", Christopher Kross "Sailing"

Agreed. If you don't want to hear Ole Miss's band, tell then they can't bring them along. Playing PA music over them is chicken shite.
