What Nuss is, is potentially the best QB in the conference. Weirdly, the only guy I would say challenges his performance is Vandyboy

His accuracy on the deep throws has not been good, and that’s not what you want when you’re also not a threat to run

We’re moving between the 25s pretty good, but when the field gets smaller, it’s tough to move the ball without a ground game and everybody dropping into coverage

It literally reminds me of JRs last season until he decided to run. If we could force opponents to commit just that one player to even respect that possibility, we will have more success scoring TDs

depends on the week at his point

Does Great in the Counting stats, as he has the most attempts in the conference by far

Attempts (1st)
TD (1st)
Yards (2nd)

Efficiency Stats are a little different

YPA- 7th
Pass Rating- 5th
INT (t2)
ADJ Comp% (9th)

Wouldn’t you say that being asked to throw frequently is just as much increased risk as it is opportunity for higher stats?

I don’t worry about efficiency if he is winning football games.

No its not. its skewed because he has not been able to hit open WR's down the field consistently
or the receivers have not made the plays on the ball that could be made for 50/50 balls… who are the Thomas Jr and Nabers” this season? Just curious.
He is ranked 6th in passing yards and 40th with a 65% comp percentage. So a lot of passes completed have been short. I have no idea how many Int yards there were but he has only been sacked twice so that’s minimal.

Intermediate passes have been fine.

Still good enough for a first year starter. You give him Nabers and Thomas Jr and Hilton he would be crushing it. It is really simple, no Parker, no Hilton has hurt not to mention Daniels being hurt a couple games. Love Anderson and Z Thomas but they are small.

They are mostly not catchable

His adjusted completion % ranks 9th in the SEC. Not that I needed anything but my eyes to see that

Like Lacy having the drops about 3 games in with him being your best receiver.

You refuse to address the receiver injuries and what he doesn’t have this season that both Daniels and Burrow had both seasons that started.
The fact is, Green was moved because of the ability to creat those mismatches.

You can throw a stat at all you want but they have been limited to good receivers but none of the caliber of Thomas Jr and Nabers, who were both 1st rounders.

As you stated yourself, LSU would have trouble running and couldn’t last year because Daniels was the running game last season. Nuss doesn’t have that ability but he should pull it a few times a game. If LSU can’t run, the defense knows what is coming. That combined with the inability to take the top off of the defense, nullifies the play action pass and allows the defense to play a lot of zone.

Hilton was supposed to be the stretch the field WR, they were connecting a ton in the fall. Coaches have said as much over and over as that's what Hilton brings to the table consistently. The other guys (currently playing), just aren't great deep ball threats, doesn't mean Nuss isn't to blame some, but his chemistry was really with Hilton coming into this season and he overthrows others at times because they just don't have that speed Hilton brings. Nuss has had a number of underthrows turn into interceptible balls and PI (like the deep ball to Daniels in Ark game where ark defender just basically tackled CJ in the end zone). Without Hilton I just don't see it being a strength with this group of receivers, just not the best use of their skillsets and clearly Nuss isn't that comfortable getting it to them on said deep routes.

Anderson is maybe 5-10

Anderson is 5'8" (in cleats if you ask me). I'm 5'10" and have stood next to him and he is def not over 5'8"...but he is solid as a rock and just a great athlete with superb body control. Not having that extra reach makes quite a bit of difference with those long throws, just being off a few inches is the difference between a catch and not.

Green is something else and looks damn good catching the ball with his hands too. He will be important to us in the coming games, and I hope our offensive braintrust has the confidence to make use of him.

lol. Mine see plays where receivers can’t separate and Drop passes (Lacy). Why do you refuse to acknowledge there are ZERO as talented as Thomas and Nabers at this point in their careers? How about Chase, Jefferson and Marshall? You’re comparing Daniels to a guy that is throwing to lesser talent. That Daniels who was a 5 year starter at D-1 level to a first year. lol
You stated LSU would hurt in the run game this season because Daniels was the run game last. For the most part you have been correct. Without the threat of run, you’re 1 dimensional. Thus the effectiveness of the play action pass is diminished. RPO is diminished because if he does hand it off, they can’t run. He doesn’t have the legs to make him running a threat. That means just drop back into coverage and play all of the underneath because nobody can take the top off of the defense. The only passes that will work are slow developing. When your arse has heat on it, the ball better come out quick. Unless LSU can make people miss, use the screen effectively (which he can’t really throw well), use misdirection, this will be a long game Saturday night. TAMU’s dline will be the best they play all season.

Green should be a check-down gold-mine. With that big body he should be able to block out the coverage. Take two reads downfield, and if they aren't open, zip it to Green. He should just rack-up yards.

LE is right in this context though. Nuss has been overthrowing open WRs deep, and for whatever reason, has looked bad with the deep ball.
