And im not saying Walker can't be viable. I just don't think he is a shoe-in for a weekend spot. I could be totally off.
I think his ERA is more likely to go up from 3.48 then it is to go down. Just my opinion

But like ell said, we could legit have 6 guys.... we don’t have to over work them like we’ve been forced to in the past. It’s okay that if you’re sore to go to the pin for a weekend and do short work in some cases at that point.

And if that happens, we have 4 other options.
I just realized something...
Is it really such a good thing to give PM pitching options?!?

If they're good it is! We'll have the best rested staff in the fricking country.

Who knowe, he’ll still lose his feel for the game and pull to early or leave them in too long. He should give Wayne Graham a pager, so when it’s time to do something Wayne can hit him up. Dude was one of the best I’ve ever seen at knowing and feeling rhythm and momentum

It’s just an interesting angle. How do we handle a staff if we have 10 really good pitchers? The answer can’t be “there are no wrong moves”. It’s going to take a lot more feel on PM’s part. That’s scary.

This is the kind of staff that makes the SEC Tournament/Omaha much easier.

Not necessarily. Hear me out. When you have limited options, it’s easy to pick which player to go to next and when. But when you have a good starter and good relievers, deciding when a good starter is done is always hard and it’s just as hard to get the right reliever in if especially in 3 game series where you can’t always use the same long relief, setup, closer. It’s a good problem to have, but pitching changes has never been a strength for PM although the last two years have been better imo. (I’ll never forget starting Person and going with Godfrey vs TCU).

Marceaux is mentioned most frequently because he sounds like Walker as a freshman but with better stuff, but we aren’t even talking about the multiple 6’3-6’4 work horses. Just by talent and the fact that we’re bringing in 4-5 means we probably have a decent chance of one having a Lang-like breakout. Then George may be another back end bullpen piece.

Say what?? I remember Graham abusing the shite out of some arms.

See this is where my baseball knowledge struggles. I pitched a little in highschool but I don't know the position very well at all. I know a good starter when I see one but I suffer along with Paul when it comes to picking the right pitcher for the right situation. I think like paul. I think like a hitter. "Just get up there and throw it where they won't hit it goddammit"

He rode arms that were hot. I’m not talking longevity. I’m talking in game situations. Graham knew when people lost their legs or was getting figured out, or when they lost it mentally, he always had a plan. But he also trotted some grown men out to the bump which didn’t hurt

Is the Storz injury one that’s expected to linger or are people writing him off because of Latz memories?

That's the case as far as I know.
I guess it always could linger but if I'm Paul I would hold him out of summer ball and let him get all the rest he needs.

Latz memories with limited information. “We don’t really know” is never a good answer for a players health.

In a perfect world to start the season.
Fri - Storz
Sat - Walker
Sun - Labas
Mid week - Marceaux
Hilliard / Peterson mid relief
Hess closer

Marceaux is too good to be midweek. He is going to be a weekend guy day one
Posted on 6/5/18 at 10:16 pm to CottonWasKing
Is he a better college pitcher than walker and labas right now?

So this is what Florida feels like with their pitching staffs? I like it.
You are also leaving off some nice arms on your list. Hope I'm not prematurely getting excited, but damn I'm pumped.
