Was it? 2-7(22.2%) at Baylor doesn't seem much better than 3-8 (27.3%)at OM, especially since Baylor was 11-3 the year before and OM was 4-7.

Before 2007 (bama) for Saban he was 10-10 against top ten teams.

Before LSU Orgeron was 0-6 against top teams.

Good try, but wrong. Give O credit where it’s due. What’s so hard about that?

Comparing Apples to Oranges. Every coaches record sucks when they are at Ole miss.

Pretty telling in that Coach O has coached against 18 Top Ten Teams in his short time as Coach of LSU. The Alabama Coach has Coached against only 42 of them in a much longer time frame. I have to believe a good many of those were in the playoffs for Alabama. Just an observation

I'm glad someone noticed that.

Great catch.

If the Texas game doesn't get cancelled, that's 19 games in 5 seasons, or 3.8 a year. Saban has averaged only 3 a year.

Does it also include Sabans record at MSU? Or fishers at FSU? This is such a strange comment.

Thanks, Rouge. Confirmed my reading skills haven’t disappeared after all.

Since the OP went back & inserted the word “current”, the discussion is different.

O has a nice T10 opponent record at LSU.

And I’m not an O hater, I want to see the man succeed.

That includes a run to a NC at LSU.

The only run at Ole Miss is on the Costco so they pretend the grove was catered.

These are dumb because LSU was an AP top 10 team to start the year but we are not to end the year.

So does every coach that beat us this year get to add 1 in the win column for top 10 teams?

No, because we weren’t a top 10 team when every coach played us.

I get it, teams move up and down in the rankings. But it’s still a decent measure of success in big time games, since nobody (as far as I’m aware) publishes an easily-searchable database of wins/losses vs. where the opponent FINISHED the season ranked.

And if you dig further, then it becomes apparent to me that is not really a big difference. LSU has a built-in Top 10 game vs. Bama every year, while Bama does not play themselves and LSU is no certainty to be in Top 10. So 3.8 vs 3.0 is offset by that one game alone.
