Mauck to Skyler Green was the start of the next level for LSU FB.

I was three-quarters up in the student section and when Mauck rolled out, I saw Skyler break free and shrieked "HE'S OPEN!". I didn't even see him catch the ball.

Something positive: Your favorite LSU football memoryI agree the LSU/USC game in 1979
Steve Ensminger was the QB who scored the first touchdown in the September 29, 1979 LSU vs USC contest. It was something the stadium went nuclear.

"Steve Ensminger to Leroy Jones touchdown!!"

The Bluegrass Miracle. I had a Suburban full of 10 year olds heading to a basketball tournament listening to the game on the radio. When Henderson caught the pass they all went crazy.

So many..... Sincerely hoping and praying I get to add a few more in the immediate future.

1995 Independence Bowl vs Michigan St.
We were in the process of "bringing back the magic" and the Fightin' Tigers came to my hometown for the first bowl game since I could truly remember and appreciate at 15 yrs. old. Adding to the whole experience, my buddies Dad was on the committee ( he would chair the 96' game featuring Auburn and Army ) and got us on the sideline. I will always cherish that memory along with the matchup with Notre Dame 2 yrs. later when Abram Booty hauled in the TD pass in front of his hometown! I hear everybody say that it was more fun back then, and I agree. Amazing to think of how excited we were to get to the Independence Bowl compared to now, when if we don't win 10 games, it is an outright failure. I guess that's what happens once you reach the pinnacle and expect to stay there year in and year out. I realize we have been able to bring in the talent and have the most players in the NFL, but I'll save that discussion for another thread.

2000 vs Tennessee
We had just lost to UAB the week before and we were wondering about the direction our new coach had us headed in. Fast forward a week to the matchup with top 10 (or 11 or so) Tennessee who had just won the NC a couple years before. I almost didn't go to the game and am certainly glad I did. Rohan to Reed and an epic Tiger Stadium crowd
I was blessed to witness from the student section helped the Tigers pull off an unforgettable overtime victory and start our climb to the top. To top it all off, we rushed the field, tore down the goalposts, and saw Brittney Spears at Sports/Fred's after the game. We would win the SEC the next year only 2 yrs after hardly winning a game and hiring a new coach. I vividly remember thinking that it could never possibly be better than winning the SEC and the Sugar Bowl. Glad I was wrong.

2003 vs Georgia
Top 10 matchup against the defending SEC champ. College Gameday on campus. We finally win a big game and truly catapult ourselves to the top. Will forever be the greatest day game in Tiger Stadium history. Just a magical season where we were able to bring home our first NC in 45 yrs. by beating a previously thought of, best team ever, in the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, an hour from campus. Again, could never possibly get better.

2007 vs Florida
Another top 10 matchup. LSU ranked #1 in Tiger Stadium for first time in ages. This time against defending NC Florida and soon to be first Sophomore to win the Heisman, Timmy Tebow, whose phone number we got night before game. Gameday on campus. USC losing to Stanford. Mike VI first game in Tiger Stadium. 5 for 5 1st down conversions. The list goes on and on. JACOB freakin' HESTER! Tigers win, go on to an epic undefeated in overtime season to win another NC and become first to win 2 in the BCS era.

Getting on the field at the 95 independence bowl after beating little Nicky and the Spartans and begging Eddie Kenison for one more year. After the previous 5 years of Archer and Curly, it was something I thought wouldn’t happen.

Second is being in the dome to watch them beat Oklahoma. See above reasons

For games I've been to, 2010 Alabama. What a great day. It felt like both programs could go toe to toe forever at that point.

Favorite overall memory is probably '03 UGA Mauck to Green as it signaled LSUs arrival to the college football contenders table.

I still get goosebumps thinking about that LSU chant that went around the stadium after Georgia got that long touchdown in '03.

It went from shocked silence, to a surreal chant, to an absolute madhouse.

November, 1982 in Legion Field, Birmingham, AL. LSU beats Ala 20-10 ending an 11-game losing streak to Alabama. Every LSU fan stood and screamed the entire 4thQ.

December, 2001 in SECCG in ATL. Tigers upset UTenn 31-20 signaling LSU was gonna be a contender for several years to come.

LSU fans were more ecstatic at those two events than any other I have attended and that includes both NC wins this century.

Suprisingly, my fondest memories aren't actually the games, but the circumstances surrounding the games. A few come to mind:

I would guess that it was the early '70s when I was at the deer camp with a bunch of relatives. I remember us all outside sitting around the fire. Somebody's truck had the door open and we listened to the LSU game over the old AM radio. Unfortunately, I don't remember who we were playing, but I remember the crisp winter air, the fire crackling, the smell of the burbon that the adults were sipping, and the sound of LSU football like it was just yesterday. Most of those relatives have since passed on, but that memory still makes me smile.

LSU football has left me with a lot of wonderful memories through the years just like that one.

Selling cokes in the student section while in junior high school in the 70’s. Saw the Rice game we won 70 to 0, when Carlos Carson had 5 catches for 5 TD’s. Also saw some great performances from Alexander the Great!
