You are lazy, man. The game just isn't the same when you're not standing.

sorry to interupt all of you from being internet badasses, but what he's talking about pisses me off too. I have no problem standing for the whole game or sitting for the whole game, but having somebody in front of you who will sit then jump up in the middle of every play, whether its a big play or not, will piss anybody off. people like that need to just pick what they want to do. stand or sit.

Nothing like LSU making a big play and you leaning to your friend while you're sitting down and giving him a big hug

Sorry, I do it and it probably won't change. I do it at home too while I'm watching games. It's my natural reaction to a possibility of a big play, not every play. Kind of like it's your natural reaction to bitch when somebody obstructs your view.

An analogy either works or not, yours is a good one.

They get up to go to the bathroom. They move their giant heads around or adjust their seating and block your view.

Is this what the initial poster stated, no. Not going to the bathroom, not changing their seated position, nope. Specifically with no warning, jumping up to see a play. A play that lasts a split second and now will not be seen by the spectator behind him or her.

So just stay seated out of common decency....why is this so difficult. How does the ability to stand make you more or less of a fan?

It doesn't. Complaining about it makes you more of a douche and less of a person.

I love this one.

I remember times in the 80s and even up until 99 that you could get tickets any time anywhere leading up to the game.

Hell in the 80s there were empty seats EVERYWHERE. Average attendance with ticket giveaways was still 10 k short of 80k capacity.

TS has had great runs of being a hell of an intimidating place.

But this is a result of great play on the field putting your asses in the seats.....not your arse standing and yelling that makes great play on the field.

i honestly can't believe you are complaining about someone getting excited during a play.

if it weren't for the people around me i would stand for the entire game.

this has got to be a joke.

Here's the rule:

Stand and cheer:

In reaction to big plays
In anticipation of big plays
On ALL third and fourth down conversions while on defense.
On ALL plays when your opponent is threatening to score (red zone).

Sit your big head down:

Every other time (don't worry, you can still make plenty of noise).

In summary, there should be SOME standing.

But outside of the student section, standing up the whole game is stupid. You don't get a special award for it at the end of the game. LSU did not win the game because you stood the whole time. It's not about you. Get over yourself.

To people who whine about folks standing up when a big play happens or could happen, shut the hell up, and go watch the game on TV if you can't suffer a little spontaneous behavior. It's not about you. Get over yourself.

Thank you.

From your description, "the standing guy" sounds a lot like me. And to you, I apologize for hindering your enjoyment of the game, but I do not apologize for my actions.

You have a choice ... you can either A) stand B) not stand C)watch the game at home or D) move your tickets.

My adrenaline and love for LSU football does not allow me a choice. When something happens, my body gets excited and I have no choice in the matter.

Just be thankful that I am not sloppy drunk, hitting on your wife, yelling profanities the entire game and spilling nachos on your buddies.

Common curtousy? This isn't a trip to the grocery store. It's a football game.
