What games were you watching? Obviously not ones in which LSU played?

We can't kick it out of the EZ and we can't cover. We tried the sky kick to the corner but can't keep it in bounds. Let's try the loop de loop to the 35 and make an upback fair catch it. That's the trick.

I'm all for Coach O to DC.
He deserves it. He is a asset to LSU in many different ways.
I'll support whoever LSU puts in place until they fail.

Yeah buts that's on Les. Gamble has the leg to put it out of the end zone, Les wants that pooch kick for whatever reason

Because gamble isn't consistent at all when trying to kick it deep, and tech had a great returner back there.

Not sure I get all the Steele hate.

LSU just paid him a million dollars to field the worst defense of the miles era.

One season with guys he didn't recruit and having a totally inept offense that kept the D on the field too long.

theres a learning curve....
and then theres fielding the worst defense of the last 11 years.

Plus he didn't check-out and quit coaching the bowl game like Chavis did.

yeah this wasnt cool, but thats pretty myopic to ignore the previous 6 seasons that chavis (mostly) fielded pretty good defenses

What am I missing?

all of the evidence pointing to Steele not doing a very good job at his job this year.

The reason for the pooch kicks is because we can't cover worth a crap..

Always thought he had a monster leg. Has to be coaching that makes them kick it short.

First the article says LSU is paying half the buyout, then is says LSU is making an effort to retain him. What am I missing?

It was a mistake. Steele and auburn are splitting the buyout.

Seems to me the main reason Yaw Yaw didn't take a HC job.

Steele was at Alabama.

Not sure how bad they were under his coaching..

Other than that. Not much to report.

Dude, the Mills injury exposed what is apparently a real depth problem at S. 13 and 29 couldn't cut it at all and there was apparently no one else to try (although I can't understand why they never really gave Corey Thompson a shot, he was great pre-injury).

We were also very very thin at LB and DL.

But you wanted/expected Steele to be a DC or Miracle Worker?

I don't hate to see him go but the quasi-hatred of the man is severely misplaced.
