Which kids did he recruit and which hitting techniques need to be upgraded?
He might be the worst coach on the planet, I've never attended a practice session and I've never watched him work with hitters in the cage....I'm just going by what happens on the field. Surely someone has some specific details.
ETA: Which two seniors are we talking about and if we're going that route are we also going to mention the guy that has been flirting with .500?

I played college ball with Broham and he knows the game pretty well. At the end of the year we always gave out awards to the Seniors and he got most likely to be a coach. Everything he said is pretty spot in IMO.

He also said there is a fine line between getting the ball to go up the middle versus at the 2B or SS. As he is apparently aware, that is why the diamond is positioned the way it is on the baseball field. It seems like we take this line drive up the middle approach to every at bat. The result is us leading the SEC in double plays.
So you admit the team takes a solid approach to the plate almost exclusively, but would rather something different? Asking a lineup without any power to lift and pull everything would probably cause less double plays, and we would also be even less productive overall than we are today.
And again, that was a wonderful call on the recruiting coordinator thing.

Garbage. Raph came here knowing how to hit.He batted just under .500 at LSUE and while that was JC he was facing decent pitching for the most part.

It's pretty ridiculous for folks to argue about Javy.
He's a below average coach compared to the rest of the experience and resumes on our staff other than Will My Parents Donated My Way Into A Meaningless Coaching Job I Don't Deserve After Donating My Way Into A Spot On The Team That I Also Didnt Deserv Before That Davis.
We've got two four year senior starters he didn't recruit that are hitting below .300, which is flat out inexcusable.
The kids he's recruited are wholly unimpressive as well. He has zero idea or ability evidently to identify talent and get it here.
He's also an absolutely atrocious 3rd Base Coach.
How anyone defends a guy like this when they see us winning all these 1 run games and us struggling at the plate is ridiculous.
We are OBVIOUSLY leaning on pitching, and it's starting to crack under the strain.
I'm not saying that there's some Major League Hitting Instructor out there just waiting to work for us. But we could easily make a huge upgrade in terms of coaching, technique, and especially recruiting.
Conversely, if he were let go, he'd be selling insurance next year come baseball season, or be in Grad School. Because he sure wouldn't be coaching.
Supporting the thought of keeping him here is keeping your head in the sand.
This is a perfect example of simple-minded, black and white type of thinking. If Sanchez is not the best...he must be the worst.
The truth is that, statistically, this team has performed as well behind the plate as it has on the mound (4th vs. 5th in the SEC). And very few will argue that the talent at the plate is anywhere close to the talent on the mound.
LSU could upgrade by replacing Sanchez. I think that is a possibility. But, the performance of this team at the plate hasn't been nearly the problem as people pretend it to be or expected it to be.

Trey Watkins also had a monster year at LSUE.

What's up Black?
I don't know if you've been following LSU lately but we have the best hitting coordinator in the game. He's coached a guy to hitting almost .500, one at .330, .311, .305 and the rest under .300 And he's one of the best third base coaches out there. He also great at teaching the kids how to run the bases.
LSU is very lucky to have this guy. We need to give him a blank check so he doesn't leave. If he would happen to leave, LSU would fall off the map in baseball.
to Javi Sanchez

Did anyone say he is the best?
I'm just asking for specifics about the terrible approach. What is so terrible about it?

And at hitting a bunch of doubles, hitting over .400, and getting on base a ton. But LSUE probably only played tough competition the year Rhymes was there.

Do you watch the damn games?
We get into favorable hitting counts such as 2-0 or 3-1 only to sit there and fricking take a pitch right down the damn middle. The point of getting into these favorable counts is to sit fastball and drive a pitch that should be a good one.
I could sit here and explain you the game of baseball all day long but unfortunately I have some work to do.

Let's wait till the season ends and then we can talk
