There was no method of game planning or preparation that could have offset what occurred on both lines of scrimmage against Bama. It's that simple.

a short passing attack to neutralize the defense with misdirection would have done wonders

saban had no fear or brandon harris or the passing game in general and it showed

So the players should make the adjustments them selves?

when Harris is missing wide open screen passes, its kinda hard to beat Bama with the passing game as well

That's the whole damn point Miles apologists don't understand. We need to open up the passing game from the first game of the season and get the kinks out long before Bama. Can't expect our players to suddenly turn into the Green Bay Packers just when we need it vs Bama. We should be balanced from game number one but no it took us until just a couple of games ago to break 150 yards passing in a game. We didn't even break 100 yards for most of those. Ridiculous!!

Your spinning your wheels with this post. The guys who hate Les think the players make no mistakes and play well every game, it's just the coaches that put them in the positions they're in.

Everyone has to find something to blame it on and it's all about the coaching and coaching alone.

I agree with what you said, btw. Except the BAMA part. They'll get beat by a spread offense as usual because Saban refuses to change his scheme to defend those spread offenses. But the most insane negative people are always the loudest so you might as well just step back and let them throw their tantrum for 2 months

The Op and you are incorrect.
When your team loses to the same team while running the same game plan who else do you blame.

To add insult to injury we all watched the midget learn from his mistake of 9-6 and alter the identity of his team for 1/9 and it worked.

Finally and perhaps most important are the stated Goals of the program. Our AD doesnt believe that its national championships.

We have so many terrible football fans who just can't give credit to the best team won and the Bama players wanted the game more. Our 9-6 victory pushed Bama to a NC. We can do the same if our players want it bad enough, plane and simple. I agree, man up and stop blaming the coaching staff.

The reason I can blame the coaches is that a true sophomore QB with no touch is our best option. We had a chance to bring in an experienced QB transfer and possibly keep one of the ones we had, but our coach is in love with running QB's.

We had Mett, an RB and two WRs who are all starting in the NFL and we got blasted over there in embarrassing fashion. That didn't work either. That team scored only 1 more point on them than this team thanks to the blocked extra point.

Also, Harris only had a couple of runs during the game, so they didn't even use his legs (they should have because he averaged 4 ypc).

that's what a lot of people have been worried about all season and it finally bit LSU in the arse.

You suffer from a special type of stupid. The definition of the word Coach directly explains that coach main responsibility is to ensure players are executing on the field.

Why recruit dual threat quarterbacks if we don't use them? Brandon Harris can run like a freaking deer and we don't utilize it.

I don't

but I expect him to be able to hit open, short passes, like he has in previous weeks

and don't call me a Miles apologist. I don't give a frick about Miles.

I played sports in college.

You may argue how much control a coach has over those certain variables. Certainly teams have bad games. But the accountability for the product on the field always lies squarely with the head coach.

Especially if that lack of execution was collectively as a team. If a guy drops a pass or a guy misses a tackle that's one thing, but if the collective effort and execution of the team is lacking then you put that on the leader of the team.

this is so stupid a statement. Bama average rival rating the past 8 years is 1.2. Lsu's is 7.4. We aren't even close. But teams with less talent can still do more than what we do on offense. You have to develop an offense that overcomes a talent disadvantage. Can still be pro style but has to ditch the whole power run I formation prostyle scheme for a more wide open variety of Prostyle . Similar to Alabama or even better, Ohio State. Get rid of the fullback and line up in the shotgun with 3 WR's as your base set. Then use a lot of motion and misdirection to set up your plays. Use some pick plays to get WR's open on short passes. Spread out the defense. Be creative and get all your playmakers involved and get them in space to make plays.

Yet, there are tons of people that want to move on from Les Miles. So if that's the case, you're putting Alleva in charge of finding a replacement.

Be careful what you wish for.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the clock management with calling in plays. How many times did we see BH in the huddle still looking ta the sideline for the play w/ under 20 second left. Or, with the team at the LOS and the entire offense is turned around at the sideline waiting for the call.

How is a QB suppose to be successful if he is not able to actually see what the defense is going to look like before he has to rush to snap the ball?

right

the point is that sometimes it doesn't matter what the coach does, once the players get on the field, it is on them

and I'm not removing fault from Miles for this game, so don't lose your mind, all I'm saying is that putting all the blame on the coaches for the players lacking execution is kinda dumb

we just don't incorporate it into our offense enough for it to be a smooth functioning part of the offense. Takes time for the QB's and receivers to become comfortable with it and find its rythymn
