Earlier in the year some reporter wrote that Kelly would probably go with Daniels because of his mobility. The OL was weak and he need a QB who could run with pocket broken down. Brennan could do it and evidently Nuss can’t. Daniels may be worse passing than Kelly anticipated but it’s all he has.

It is WAY too early to close the book on Kelly. But the honeymoon ended for him today. He’s going to find out quickly you don’t play a decent team then turn around and play Army or Purdue. Everyone in the SEC can play, and hiring coordinators who had zero demand whatsoever…for a reason…isn’t going to cut it.

They are 27 points better when you spot them 14 points due to special teams screw ups and your receivers drop balls including one that would have been a TD. Geez. LSU fans are so unrealistic.

That’s fair and probably true but can you acknowledge that giving Nuss a chance wouldn’t have hurt?

It wouldn't have hurt since we lost, but it most likely wouldn't have helped either with his accuracy issues and our O-line struggles today along with no running game whatsoever. He looked good against NM, but his Southern game was the worst QB performance this year against our weakest opponent. So while I think he has a great arm and would take more chances downfield than Daniels, I think the results would look the same on a day like today.
