Your not going to beat bama with jets sweeps, too fast, not going to beat BAMA up the middle to strong, only miss directions maybe, screens(tight end as well), doubles screens, bubbles, one on one situations with our receivers.

Canada is 1-0 against the Crimson Tide.

When speaking about Alabama, he made sure to mention that he’s 1-0 for his career against the Crimson Tide. As relayed by SEC Country’s Nick Suss, Canada made sure to mention that he remembers beating Alabama in 2003 when he was an offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Northern Illinois. Northern Illinois beat Alabama 19-16 that year, one in which the Crimson Tide went just 4-9 under then-coach Mike Shula.

to beat Alabama. Everything else is just window dressing.

No he wasn't.. the obsession with Bama is mainly the fan base. I could
Give a shite about them other than we need to win to stay alive in the west. If we lost to them every year but won the west then I'd be fine with it. Gumps on top right now other than that they are no different that Arkansas

bama is going to stack the box and sell out for the run like they do every year
unless we pass the ball nothings going to change

Cant wait to see what Canada comes up with. If our D can do something similar to last season I think we’ll have a real shot. Canada’s changed the run game and we’ve seen him be able to adjust the passing game to attack whatever we are given and attack it with big plays.

I HATE that there is so much emphasis put on the Alabama game. The reason is doing so sends a message to the entire program that every other game is "less important". That's how you end up playing flat and getting stomped by MSU or losing to Troy. That's how in years past (to some degree) LSU has mailed it in after the Bama game. The thought is that it's a one game season. Everything that happens before is just a prerequisite to get to the Bama game. Everything that happens after depends solely on the outcome of the Bama game.
The greatness in Saban lies in the fact that he is a miserable SOB. He said it often at LSU and now at Bama. Every game is the most important game because it's the next game on the schedule. That's how he maintains consistency. While he and EVERYONE else really knows the LSU game is much more important than say, the Vandy game. He doesn't allow that mentality to seep into his players. That mentality is the best way to prevent an emotional let down before and/or after the "big game".
If the mentality is Canada was hired for "one reason. To beat Bama." Then shame on LSU and Ogeron. The mentality should be Canada was hired to implement an offense good enough to beat EVERYONE on LSU's schedule including Alabama. The program mentality should be we are here to kick X team's arse because they are simply the next team on the schedule. When Bama comes up on the schedule they are simply just the next team whose arse we have to kick, not the most important team's arse we have to kick.

The only teams to beat Alabama recently had QBS that were able to run and throw. Manziel, Chad Kelly, DeSean Watson, the OU kid. Regretfully those are not strengths of our QB or our offense.
A top tier running back going off got them. Zeke had some insane number against them

I will agree that Canada was hired specifically to see if more creativity and less stubbornness would lead to better offensive output, particularly against Alabama.
THE reason Miles was fired. We may not have the team to beat Alabama this particular year, but I am confident we will at least see an attempt to put ourselves in position schematically to do so.

But I'm not sure jet sweeps and pre-snap motion is going to fool Bama.
ARE going to fool Bama.
Sorry.. I just can't abide poor grammar. Call it a college education...

Well, technically Miles was fired for failing to beat Bama. It's not a requirement for O.
Wrong. Look at Miles record against Ole Miss, Arkansas and Auburn his last three years. That's why he was fired.

Canada will have to call the best SCHEME of the year to beat Bama! They don't fear LSU passing gane, with good reason. But that plays into LSU / Canada scheme. They will rotate there safety down towards the motion side of jet sweep. IF, LSU can have early success with the jet sweep / dive plays, LSU will get 1 on1 match over the top. Also, the RPO they ran against ole miss will be important. When you don't match up physically, your SCHEME better be on point.

so you are saying lets beat bama but its okay to lose every other game during the season.
thats the mentality that Army used to have when it came to beat navy until coach monken came around about 4-5 years ago.
a great coach gets his or her players to buy into the process.

Not just hiring Canada but every move we've made for several seasons now...including the hiring of Cam Cameron (not that it was a good move). And we're not the only team in the SEC scrambling to find a silver bullet for Saban. There's an article on Nola.com talking about how every team is doing this and it's hurting the quality of SEC football. It's not like we have a choice. Programs have to try to win. Never the less it is happening.
