But what if it does happen?
How is it luck? There isn't a single player on this squad Les didn't recruit and coach. To some degree, every team that wins a title has a little luck. Shoot, even Nick Saban had to have a 400 lb man somehow block a gimmee Tennessee field goal and a freak injury to Colt McCoy to win his title last year. So I suppose if it did happen, we'd have to have some luck. But only a pure partisan would immediately assume it was "luck."
Anyway, I guess you answered the question--you are utterly convinced in the fallibility of Les Miles and so even objective facts like championships will not change your view.
As for this gem:
quote:
I don't see that as a reason to blindly support him for eternity.
No one is blindly supporting Les Miles for eternity. If we go 7-5 this year or even perhaps 8-4, I'll be calling for his ouster too. However, I do believe that the man's record speaks for itself. I believe he has run a classy program and he has brought us championships. I think he deserves a lot more support than he is getting. And even if we have a down year, while I would favor his removal, I wouldn't slander the man the way many of you guys (who haven't accomplished a third of what he has) so easily, and without thinking, do.

so, basically i can't say that Les Miles is a retard because you think he can beat me up?
Look, obviously you can say anything you want about anybody. If it makes you feel good about yourself berating someone in a discussion forum have at it. My only question; Do you have the guts to say it to his face? Yes or No Question.
If yes, we'll listen for you on the Open Mic session of the coaches show at Walk-On's. Please identify yourself so the ranters will know it's you.

the last one was beyond luck. Losing at home to a shitty team in the last game of the regular season and you get to the national title game? No, not lucky at all.
And, what if it does happen again? What if my aunt grows balls, will she be my uncle? Its not going to happen, save your breath.

WTF?

He can't even come close to winning the SEC West anymore let alone the SEC Title or National Title. You act like he has this pile of titles to hang his hat on. He has one conference championship in his lifetime. Thats so impressive.

Roger that but I'm not going to let him bash a guy like Chris.

But if PM really wanted to bunt late in Game One (which we won), he should have sent up a pinch hitter for Gaudet.
he did.
at least 3 different times
2 of them being with Gaudet up.
and 2 times we were up 2-3 runs at the time
considering we got all our runs early playing for big innings and the fact that our relief pitching was bad.
he shouldn't have bunted then.
But he should have bunted with Gibbs, considering the score and the time in the game.

have you said every thing that you've posted on this board about Ole Miss fans, Tulane fans, Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow, Nick Saban etc to their face? Otherwise you are a fricking pussy who is scared to man up in real life.
See how that works?

2 of them being with Gaudet up.
And I completely disagree you bunt down by a run with two on and no out in the 8th inning with the MIDDLE OF THE ORDER at the plate. You never, ever, EVER bunt Gibbs or Dean. Ever. There was a runner in scoring position for your best hitter on the season. You hit away. The table was set. I'm comfortable letting the season ride on my star, He didn't get the hit, but I think it was the right decision to put the bat in the hand of one of your best hitters.

8-5 in what's supposed to be the toughest conference in college football = a shitty team? That McFadden guy was pretty good if I remember.
We were very lucky Pitt upset West Virginia, indeed.
I guess we were also lucky we got to play the SEC Championship game without our starting QB or Glenn Dorsey who would just slow us down.
We also needed alot of luck for Oklahoma to beat Mizzu, despite Oklahoma being favored and all.
We were lucky to jump Georgia, despite having a better record, actually making the SECCG, and beating the two teams they lost to.
We were also VERY lucky to destroy Virginia Tech earlier on the year so we could jump them, too.
Alot of luck towards being 4-0 against top 15 teams at that point as well.
Lucky our best receiver was hurt most of the year, including the entire Florida game.
Lucky Colt David's kick against Kentucky as time expired was just a foot to the left.
Just like you, I could go on an on with the amount of "luck" we had that year. What you fail to realize, for whatever reason, is that luck can actually go both ways.

Read my post...I said I'm guilty sometimes of this as well. I admit it.
Look, I wish I wouldn't react the way I do in which my passion for winning clouds my judgment and makes me say things I don't want to say. But in the end, I do come to the realization that, in the majority of cases, these are individuals representing LSU the best way they can. What they do is a lot harder than it seems sitting in a recliner in front of a TV.
I just think we should ask ourselves when we trash someone, would we (or could we) do it to their face?

Gaudet bunted foul to 2 strikes the first time and then struck out, then the next time bunted hard to the pitcher got the lead runner out and almost a DP

has any national championship team had the amount of GOOD luck that that team had? We would get to #1 then lose to a crappy middle of the road SEC team. How many other 2 loss teams have been in title games in the past 20-25 years?

They lost 38-7 to Missouri in their next game. They lost by 3 TDs to a decent but not great UT team two weeks before the LSU game. If you want to pretend like that team was some powerhouse because they had two good running backs, go right ahead. Casey Dick was possibly the worst starting QB in the SEC in a long long time.

Ok, we are on football. Pelini's defense at Nebraska makes me even more critical of Miles and his defense with Pelini at the helm in 07

and he should have. Gaudet has never bunted at any level in his life.
the first time there was a wild pitch, so he was able to swing away, but he had 2 strikes from trying to bunt.
the 2nd time he bunted him, they threw the guy out at 2nd. And then he pinch runs for Gaudet. WTF

thats exactly why you should in that situation. you sacrifice Gibbs, let Dean hit(your best RBI guy for like 3 straight years). if they walk Dean, you let Nola go to work.
If Gaudet, your best HR hitter and 2nd best run producer is not exempt from bunting, then Gibbs or Dean shouldn't be either.
not to mention Gibb's batting average has dropped about 25 points in the postseason

I think you are saying the 07 D was good in spite of Miles. Makes you wonder why the 09 O was so bad.

No, I wanna know why Pelini's defenses here were so mediocre in comparison to Nebraska; and why is the philosophy different?
