It’s partly his fault for fighting in the first place but the bulk is on LSU’s sheer incompetence in not doing due diligence to figure this out. People on here will bend over backwards to deflect and claim otherwise but this is straight up incompetence on display

From what I'm reading, this guy is one of the top two players on the defense. It's a home game at Clemson where they are already favored by 4 points. Momentum is the biggest factor in away games.
It's the opening week of college football and this is the second biggest game on TV. It's literally everything. It's a huge deal.

No this is Haulcy, if anyone is to blame it is him.
Agree he is the responsible party for his own actions.
But "how was LSU supposed to know?" You can not be that dumb to think the staff brought him on with no research. I'll guarantee they have seen every play of him. Certainly the staff knew this was a looming possibility.

LSU's coaching staff has been incompetent and unprepared under BK. It has showed up in so many games the last few years. JD saved our arse in '22 and '23 more than a few times. USC last year (not a good team) and the mind boggling 3 game stretch in the middle of the season were inexcusable. This BS with Haulcy just reinforces the incompetence.

Actually he did not know. He was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Not for fighting. They clarified it after "reportedly" but it was not initially labeled a fighting ejection. The Coaching staff was sent a letter in December but Haulcy did not know.
Blame the kid for reacting to a shove at the last minute sure but when its being reported by multiple folks that he had no idea based on how he was ejected from his last game to call him basically a liar is uncalled for and disgusting.

In the box score it is shown as unsportsmanlike conduct and not fighting. The big. 12. Notified the University of Houston that it was for fighting in a letter sent in December of 2024. It is possible that the player did not know of the final ruling.
