Saban is the best but let me tell you this. They know how to cheat and get away with shite better than anyone. Also why they’re the best!

The gap in recruiting top O-line talent is absurd and it likely will be until Saban retires. Kirby Smart at UGA is also damn good at signing highly rated O-lineman.
The good news for LSU and others is O-Lineman are the biggest crap shoots when it comes to judging high school talent, and that talent group is the most dependent upon building additional strength and conditioning once they hit campus. It is extremely rare for a kid to be a stud lineman as a true or RS freshman.
In addition, the transfer portal is going to be a factor in grabbing ready to play lineman to fill a need. In fact, I believe it will be a great equalizer moving forward for O-lineman. You can only start two tackles. If Bama/UGA have 5-6 on the roster, someone is looking for playing time.

Was that the secret to winning it all in 2019?
Yep.
Amazing what a creative OC can do for OL talent.
Conversely, our OL talent was pretty good under Les but oh well. But for real, compare our run of LT's under Les to any other team including Bama.

Their o line vs LSU d line will be epic to watch. Bama absolutely loaded up last class with insane o line talent. It’s just gonna get harder to beat those assholes

Being brutally honest here. The "gap" will only widen until Satan retires. Its just that simple. As long as we have the GOAT coaching/recruiting in the same division we will have to take whatever scraps he left behind. 2019 showed that all we need is 5 guys that gel together not 5 guys that were 5 stars coming out of high school.

Do you honestly think Orgeron (or any other successful coach...at any level) doesn't know this?!

This may be news to you, but this ain't exactly breaking news.

Saban also has layers of bagmen so he is untouchable.

Chicken or the egg?
Does National championships bring OL recruits or the opposite?

Consider this: since 2007 Alabama has been ranked No. 1 for 100 weeks! LSU is second with 24 weeks being ranked No. 1 during that same period!
You're right, we're right on par with Alabama! Get your head out of the sand! Face the facts, Alabama is better than us because they dominate recruiting in the trenches. You win NCs in the trenches!
LSU's biggest weakness this year is in the OL!

All the big boys pay players, not just Alabama. LSU, Auburn, A&M, Tennessee and Georgia all pay players!

I agree but they have a system in place where Saban is untouchable. He’s had this in place everywhere he has been.

year, Alabama signed 5 OL in the top 37 in the country! That group included the two top-rated offensive lineman in the country, along with the 10th, 30th and 37th ranked OL in the country. All were from out of the state of Alabama! LSU had one player - No. 17 Garrett Dellinger - in the TOP 50!
This year Alabama already has two commitments in the top 8 in the country and lead for the top OL in the country
LSU will never recruit as this level. LSU’s “elite” prospects are more often than not going to be limited to what LA produces. When it comes to oline, that means one every 5-10 years.
LSU has shown the ability to pluck national talent here and there but they aren’t going to build anything close to Bama’s national recruiting approach.

Well, Alabama is a better program than LSU. They are a better program then everyone else.
As an LSU fan, I’m very happy with our program. 3 national titles and a runner up since I graduated. Only one program has done better than that…

Seriously? Recruiting and coaching.

you don't have to look far to see the huge gap that exist between Alabama and ________ in recruiting OL.

If LSU wants to reach that elite level offensively, we have to improve our OL recruiting or we'll just continue to battle for second in the West. The reality is the talent level between Alabama and LSU is light years apart!
So what is your solution to make this happen??? try harder? Stronger arse offers?
Obviously no one else in the country has that answer either.
