More Fun Fact:

Nuss is older by one month.

Both were born in 2002.

Nuss in February and Finley in March.

Even funner fact:

Blake Shapen from Miss St was born in Jan 2001. He's a year older than Nuss and Diego Pavia

Hyperbole would be TJ Finley being 26-27 and you calling him a 30 year old. Dude is 23. 23 year olds have been in CFB forever.

You should know by now that the message board heroes in here hyper-exaggerate everything to try to make a point and then dunk on you. This board has become Twitter.

Critically thinking, the value of learning to keep a commitment and being loyal to something other than yourself is more valuable than some short term money. It's more important than playing time or winning a game. We have to start getting back to some sense of personal values and rules of life.

agreed.

And it can't be healthy for a college kid to jump from school to school each year. He never develops the deep connections you develop in college from spending years with teammates, friends, the university, the city, etc.

He's just a paid mercenary. Not good.

Apparently he’s in the masters program. But he got his BA from Auburn as a Sophomore. Good on him for that. Hope he finishes it up.

I’m not mad at the kid but it points to the absurdity of CFB right now. Kids being hired mercenaries is not good for the sport and removing the concept of team cohesion from arguably the most team dependent sport in the world affects the quality.

For example We all know high school teams that over perform their talent because of their ability to play as a team. Not just a collection of individuals. We also know teams where the opposite is true.

That is absolutely affecting the quality of college football.

Get back to us when the institutions in question start rewarding those values.

A lot of yall don't like it because it's been beaten into your head that staying loyal to a place that has no loyalty to you (whether that's work, school of family) is somehow a virtue. Yall get jealous that 18-24 year olds have more mobility and opportunity, despite it being objectively good for everyone involved.

My objection is not over the justice of the whole thing, which I believe has improved with the Transfer Portal and NIL> I just don’t like the aesthetics of it.

When college football got started, and became so popular, it was club ball played by students. This gave a real vibe of our boys against theirs. Now the roster at LSU looks like the Saints’ roster. There are guys from everywhere. If I want to watch pro ball (I don’t) there is a better league for doing that. College football has lost its reason for existence. I have to think it will fade away now.

Saw him and his dad “show out” at a 7v7 at SLU Right after he committed to lsu. The entitlement and arrogance were nothing short of remarkable, and that was the dad talking shite to the SLU football players helping run the 7v7 tournament.

The issue with this is you’re starting with the assumption that they don’t have a sense of loyalty.

They may have loyalty for things they deem worthy of loyalty. Family, friends, etc. a football team where the whole goal is to eventually make money deserves no loyalty, and everyone on the team should understand that.

TJ Finley and Max Johnson seem to both be eligible for the 2026 season due to being allowed three RS seasons (covid season, redshirt season, and medical hardship season). If this is indeed the case, Finley will either be at Georgia State, or could enter the portal and attend his seventh school next fall.

Fun Facts

-If Finley transfers, they would finish with a combined 14 years in college with 11 different schools.
-Both were early enrollees and practiced with the 2019 team in preparation for the title game with Clemson.
-They are each basically the same age as Nuss (Finley 1 month younger, Johnson is 8 months older).
-Max Johnson and Bryce Young were born on the same day.
-Joe Burrow will be 30 yrs old when/if they are drafted.
-They both surpassed 6000 career passing yards in their 6th season. Burrow threw for 5800 in 2019.
