Many of us are willing to take that shot at this point.

Considering the odds, it shouldn't surprise you that many understand the likelihood of replicating what Miles did is too low to want to take that shot at this point. Regardless of the arguments, it's a fact that Miles' bad seasons have yielded 8-9 wins (not acceptable as the norm, but above average among other coaches' bad seasons), and his great seasons have yielded SEC and National CG appearances and wins.

Bottom line, I believe that in the 5 years following Miles' tenure here, LSU will have gone through or currently be on its second coach after him, which means below average performance over that period. It's not being a "Miles loving sunshine pumper" to want to avoid that until it's clear that Miles remaining the coach is worse than the alternative.

3. Why do you go straight to "frick you pumper, you love mediocre football" when someone realizes the season sucked, that they are worried about QB play, but they recognize improvement, recognize the competition in the division was unprecedented this year, and that the experience of this year can lead to higher quality football next year, even with Miles.
never told anyone on here "frick you"
to the rest of your comment.....b/c I don't have confidence in Miles, due largely in part to the facts that I produced in the OP

4. Why does it upset you when someone mentions Miles full tenure at LSU and recognizes that the coaching ability is there?
This doesn't upset me. I've many times referenced everyone's ability to have their own opinion. The fact that you think the coaching ability is there is your opnion....just like mine differs.
Instead of making a meaningless sarcastic post like your first, why not argue against the facts provided or not respond?

Good post, another way to look at it.

Fact is we are in that 2nd tier, not in that first tier we were in from 2003 to 2007

Great post. I love Les. But there's no denying we're headed in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, you don't fire coaches until you arrive at the wrong destination. Still have hope for big turnaround next year but this post plus seeing the effect on QB's at LSU over the last 10 years speaks volumes.

doesn't piss me off....but this has been discussed to death.

So has every other topic and sub-topic related to Saban, Miles, the decline, potential replacements, etc....

And you decided to start another one. Try posting less. Take the extra time and go frick yourself.

I don't think you realize how bad the program would have to get for this statement to come to fruition.

Regardless, my biggest fear (& reason why I'm not 100% sold on Miles leaving) is the lack of confidence in the person/people responsible for hiring his replacement.

When Miles wins less than 10 games for 6 straight years in a conference like the ACC, gets a bunch of wins vacated for playing ineligible players, or gets busted for covering for a serial pedophile than I'll be all aboard the Fire Miles train.

Thanks for contributing

heaven forbid one should mention who most of the players from those first 3 seasons also played for

Sooo, by this logic, is on field coaching actually worth anything?

but the response to that (& somewhat valid) is that Saban is on a historical run (they have won 4 out of those 7)
But the fact that other SEC (west included) teams are succeeding during that time diminishes the "but we can't expect to cmpete with Saban" pumper narrative

Hmmm... Which answer reflects more poorly on Les... Let's go with that one!

Got it.
I think most would disagree with you on that one.

The only way to not decline from winning a championship is to keep winning championships, which only one team can do.

You mean the toughest era in SEC history? That day and time?

The lengths some of you will go to discredit his accomplishments is astonishing

I think he has done great things....

BUT....The lengths YOU go to to give him more credit he deserves is disturbing... You NEVER say ANYTHING negative even though you should is pathetic....

what he means is 11 games versus maybe 14 or even 15 in a season (with at least 4 cupcakes per season)
not that hard to comprehend
