Other than a few douche Tiger fans, the trip was great. I actually apologized to a group of Tennessee fans for the behavior of some of our LSU faithful.
Calhouns on the River was a cool spot. Cool campus and downtown. The Knoxville offerings are much better than what Baton Rouge offers imo.

Who were the baws that were throwing hands in section PP last night?

Trip was great. Stadium was underwhelming. Felt like a glorified high school stadium. One replay board. Bathrooms I went in were horrible. No TVs in corridors. Looks like it was built from an erector set.

Very much this. Stadium seems over due for a refresh. Overall trip was great though. Our group didn't have the same luck as many of you seem to have had when it came to random Tennessee fan interaction. Met plenty of friendly gracious fans, but also quite a few shite talking assholes. I'm sure every group has a few of those. Sat next to a few of them, but thankfully they didn't bother to make it back after halftime. I would say there was a 50/50 chance over the whole weekend that someone would bring up Troy. That seemed to be the only talking point they had. We even had a "We Want Troy! - clap clap, clap clap clap" going on for in the fourth while there team was taking a beating in the field. As everyone else has said the weather was just insane. The players and fans really seemed to have a good time in it though.

Is there ANY SEC town that doesn't have better offerings than BR? (Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, Starkville or Auburn maybe)
BR vs Knox is like Hawaii vs Welsh, La.
LSU fans act so shocked when they go out of town and find a totally different atmosphere at other SEC towns. (I'm talking about the towns themselves, not the school campus's)

Fans of opposing teams are always nice when their team sucks I learned. When they’re doing well things can change
^This. While I have no doubt that Vol fans are generally nice, I would caution that you don't see the true side of a fan base until you see how they react when they expect to win...and don't.
I can tell you somewhat different stories of Vol fans after the SECG, when a Tennessee win would have had them playing for a national championship.

Their fans told me “you should have died in Katrina” at the SECCG in 2007 after they started losing the game.
I guess they didn’t know I was living in Atlanta at the time.

Fans of opposing teams talk way less crap when they know their team is terrible. No one has given us a hard time yet which is a first for me traveling to any away game in the sec. great trip, we're still in Gatlinburg enjoying the fall colors and the Smokys!

Long been my favorite SEC road game venue. Helped by the fact that the folks I tailgate with here at home are good friends with a Tennessee guy who has always had a prime tailgate spot, but the people are always great and lots to do.
Cramped quarters inside Neyland is the only negative.

Stadium is going to have a 3.8 million renovation. Taking out 4000 to 5000 seats to add suites, renovate bathrooms, put in elevators, Jumbotron in north end zone

That looked like something Santore would have been in the middle of. Glad you guys braved it! Good win!

I too had the same expierence, the atmosphere was great all day and the Tenn fans were awesome.
There was of course the occasional blacked out waste of space but that just comes with the territory. What a weekend!

Had a great time as well. LSU fans took over that town. I didnt see my first Tennessee fan until an hour of walking around downtown Friday night. Purple & gold was everywhere. We probably had 10-15k fans in the stadium.

Had a great time! Beautiful landscape, really gracious and knowledgeable fans in Tennessee. I would return in a heartbeat. Our fan base made me very proud. Geaux Tigers!

The visitor section bathrooms were not pretty at all need a renovation. The seating has always been tight in Neyland, they pack them in the those benches.

We had a great trip - bunch of us live in Nashville and met about 30 of our Krewe from BR. Nice Vol fans hosted us at their tailgate right outside Neyland. We ended up with about 150 people, 80% LSU.
We set up to cook around 9 am and didn’t see many Vol fans until around 1 pm. Sparse tailgating, not at all like BR, but they did show eventually.
All in all, great fans at TN, nice and welcoming but like other Posters state, maybe due to lack of hope winning against the Tigers.
Bar scene after the game was very cool.

I think this might be a bit of an exaggeration....Knoxville is nice but it also has its share of warts, crime and social issues. LSU as a campus is way more beautiful than UT.

This. I was shocked at how awesome Knoxville's bar/restaurant scene was, but LSU's campus blows UT's out of the water.

That bar restaurant scene is about 3 yrs old we have had huge growth especially in craft beer industry. The city repaved Gay Street updated Market Square which is a large reason for the growth. Cumberland Ave. area is being done now but it’s still lacking parking which means non-students will not go down there except in the summer
