I was also pissed off because it probably cost LSU a national title. But honestly, it was worth it because as others have said it most likely saved his life and allowed him to have a HOF career and become and amazing person/role model.

it was very widespread
i've talked to and asked enough former LSU players, point blank, were they getting paid, and every single one of them admitted they got paid under the table... they never said how much or anything like that, but they definitely acknowledged they were being taken care of and were bankrolled by people around the program...
