Huge weekend for the Tigers. I was realistically hoping to get just one game, and avoid the sweep. Arkansas is a definite threat to win the SEC, and make a return trip to Omaha. LSU was facing them without Ranaudo, and Matulis is still working back from a minor injury. The comeback on Saturday came out of nowhere considering the lack of hitting on the weekend until that inning. That comeback win could be the difference in winning the SEC title at the end of the season. It always comes down to one or two games.
If Ranaudo can work back into shape, this team will get that big lift from having him back in the rotation and they could really take off and start playing with a lot of confidence.

We needed one of Matulis and Bougerois step up and Matulis did just that. If things continue, I really like Ranaudo, Ross, and Matulis for the SEC with Rittiner starting mid-week. The pitching is really progressing.
3rd base is a tough spot. Time for someone else to step up. I also liked the tweaks Maineri made to the batting order this weekend.

less than 2 out and a guy on 3rd

This. LSU has a problem right now with leaving guys on base, and especially with less than one out. Not just Landry, but it seems a lot of guys are trying to hit HRs instead of going the other way or just get the ball IN PLAY.
This isn't a knock on you and I understand how frustrating it is when someone doesn't get the run in from 3rd with less than two outs, but this complaint is overstated each and every year. We are always at or near the top of the SEC in success rate, and we are currently 3rd in the league at around 68%. It is very frustrating when it happens, and some weekends it happens more than others, but when looking at the big picture it really isn't that big of a problem.

I like how Bourgeois stayed focused and continued to pitch well and keep us in the game after the bad inning early.
