They were very good, but the big difference was that Clemson lost like three number ones from last year's defensive line.

Where do you get that OSU is a generational team? 1 plus 1 doesn’t equal 3.

2019 tOSU and Clemson were not elite world beating teams. That doesn't change their records.

No one has said they were. They have one loss each, if you e checked.

They were rated exactly how they're currently perceived. Clemson was even the 3 seed.

You and tub both have said any other year both those teams definitely win a title. I see no way to say that so confidently of you don't think they were elite world beating teams like LSU was.

But Burrow was the one to make this happen.

Burrow was absolutely astonishingly dominant. Greatest college player I’ve ever seen. The total package, and he played abandon. Didn’t he say something like “they’ll have to kill us to beat us”? The whole team had that attitude.

I do think they have been a little overhyped due to the Bama beat down last year.

Frankly, I thought that was the special team. Their D-Line was ridgodamndiculous and Lawrence pretty much came out of nowhere and played pretty perfectly. Throwi in Etienne's contribution and a vet o-line and you could see the Bama beat down coming from a mile away.

They were the 2nd best team. They beat OSU

Clemson, Bama and Ohio were the 2 through 4 teams - no particular order. “Special” is a relative term. If you call that special, then fine, they are special.

I would not be surprised if Clemson went undefeated in 2020 season and wins the championship - probably against either Ohio State or possibly SEC west team (Aub/LSU/Ala). They will then have just 1 loss in their last 44 games! They were not special in 2019 because LSU was special. I expect Clemson to dominate again this coming season. Dabo got humbled on 1/6/2020. Yeah I would say Clemson as a program is special and they will be special as a team in 2020.

Clemson was a good team.

They played LSU as well as they could have.

LSU was just a better team.

Someone gets it. Not sure why fans try to devalue an opponent that their team beat. Might as well say LSU was that great if we are going to down play every opponent they faced this year. Seams bizarre that fans do this, not just LSU fans.

When you have won 29 in a row and are playing for your 3rd title in 4 yrs you are special. Yes, we won in grand fashion and the fact that they were special makes it even grander. When are people on here going to realize that criticizing and downgrading only marginalizes your own accomplishments when you beat them...

If LSU was in their shoes there would be people on here howling for supreme respect.

Not as strong on the DL as last season but still a very formidable team

And we handled them like we did everyone else

I think Auburn played very well against us, but I also think that game was an anomaly in some respects. One of their TDs was set up by a muffed punt around our 20. I think we doubled (or close to it) their yardage, and we had 2 drives stopped on 4th down; one on the 1-yd line. Didn’t we also miss a FG? 23-20 could have easily been 33 or 40 to 20. Still closer than most teams.

I'm misses TD catch by chase, and us kneeling at the 5 yard line. Would of been 56 on them
Lol.

Last year Clemson's O Line gave Trevor all night long to throw and he killed Bama. We kept him off balance entire game, less than 50% completions.
This team peaked perfectly...….56 on Arkansas, 50 on A&M, 37 on Georgia, 63 on Oklahoma and 42 on Clemson.
Only regret is Joe didn't get to beat Ohio State..

It could have been a lot worse too. Chase's drop wide open downfield and the mercy kneel inside the 5 or 10, wherever it was.

That Clemson team was very good. Their offense was stacked and their defense was amazingly talented. I'd say Clemson's only weakness was trying to get pressure with their d line. Their lbers were highly talented, and their secondary was highly talented. Their offense had a great rb, a incredible rb, and a stacked wr core. LSU was just that damn good. They made a 1st round corner look like a freshman in hs.
