LSU’s depth is what has separated us from the field the last title seasons. We tend to pull away late in games and rubber matches.
Not uncommon to struggle with a starter with good stuff. Just be patient and get to bullpen. Not many can matchup with our depth and that’s what wins titles.
We didn’t even throw Skenes in the championship series vs Fla in ‘23. That’s depth.

Gonna be a crap ton of people on this board wondering why you are bringing up the New Orleans paper, a town in Mississippi, or an old brand of cigarette.

Just a little bit of a slump

Because Burreauxx, the guy you responded to was criticizing the OP who was worried about the baseball team.

barely top 50 in country in avg. runs/game in 2025 - barely top 100 in avg. hits/game
Again, great recruiter and hirer of asst. coaches. But, aside from the Tanks/Dylan/Tre team, Jay has been highly overrated as the great offensive coach he was billed as

It seemed the OP was crapping on the team as well.

He was, which is why I responded to him accordingly.
My reaction to Burreauxxx was just about who it was; I guess I should have looked at what he was responding to.

Not a cell account at all.

Ok. Too many people panic because of these early season games. At this point, Jay could go .500 before the SEC and I wouldn't fuss. Dude has the skins on the wall.

I don’t put a whole lot of stock into struggles against some smaller schools. At all levels of baseball from little league through college pitchers that are either over powering or that throw slower than the team is used to tend to have success. Don’t know the speeds but guessing the fb was probably at least 5 mph slower and off speed even more which can create many timing issues and hitters out front and off balance. Plenty of talent and Coach will focus even more on swings and approach and we will be fine on offense. Need to cut down on free passes by pitchers and defense for sure which hopefully will settle down over the next month or so as we get deeper in and as he trims the weekend usage of some pitchers.

Dartmouth actually played excellent on defense. The outfield robbed LSU multiple runs in that game
That RF was no joke. He showed up to play.

Guys that like to slap pitches all around the yard go cold against slow throwing rag arms... it happens.
Im optimist...I saw something I really wanted to see and that was our starters start to extend this weekend. Fielding wasnt good last night, and ump was terrible...pitching stick did its thing.
Today, Moore SHOVED for almost 8 innings. Lot to like!

I’m glad to know nobody has accused me so far of being the dumbest poster here. But I remember hearing Coach Bertman early in his LSU career talking about non-conference games and how those opponents would treat games against us as an opportunity to prove something. He never focused on a single regular season game as proving how good or bad the team was.
All I know is he never expected to be undefeated, so anybody who acts like a loss or close game is the end of the world really doesn’t understand baseball, nor sports in general.
