Evans chance to stay in rotation. Performance like last week and he is back to the Pen.
His leash will definitely not be that short lol

He spent all summer being groomed to be the Friday starter. I think he'll get more than two games.

Part of me agrees, part of me doesn’t. Johnson tends to have a short leash.

Schmidt got 12 outs or so, 9 were K’s
Sure pitch count was high, always is with that many K’s. Gonna get full counts, and those are followed by foul balls half the time.
Pitchers that possess “stuff” with control issues don’t wake up with command. His numbers would tell that he is progressing. He will likely start getting closer with his chase pitches, getting his off speed over early, and not having to come with expected FBs, or at least commanding the zone better.
People have short memories. Think Chase Shores as recent as last year from the end of the previous season. Even with his electric “stuff”, he got in trouble with free passes and had 98 mph FBs squared up
Schmidt will be fine

How many weeks is it gonna take you to quit on this years’ baseball team?

Evans with some rough moments but otherwise a good 5ip. Let’s see if Schmidt can give something similar? With these bats 5ip and 3 runs will be good enough.
