One of the biggest things is the limits to the squad size. We used to have 50 to 60 people on the team. The changes a few years ago for minimum scholarship amounts and fewer walk on players really limited the ability for LSU to stock pile players who only played as upper class men.

We were in the CWS just last season. We are in the NCAA tourney most likely. Still in line for hosting if we finish well.
All that, but we won't be top 8 seed like we were the previous four years.
It's a rebuilding season after sending 8 to pro ball. Likewise, losing Godfrey and Cartwright hasn't helped. Those guys gobbled up innings last season.

Because they had coaches that weren't up to the task.
And why have they won 4 since 2009? I assume to the sunshine pumpers it's because there's a lot less parity in college football since 2009.

CPM is a top ten coach but he'll most likely never win another title. Skip,Auggie, Dedoux knew how to win championships he just can't get his team to peak at the end of the season they peak at the Sec tourney!

Bama is one of the best runs in college football history don't make bama our bar because every coach in every sport would be fired.
Duke has only one more championship in the 21st century than we do. They made the elite 8 3 times since 2007, we have made the college world series 4 times in that same span.
Duke didn't do so hot this year, sure they made it but they were not the typical duke.
LSU baseball will never be the 90s team ever again. No team ever will (well except bama football but we are talking baseball.)
CPM shouldn't be on a hot seat, other than 2011 which was stupid that we didn't make it, he has always made the post season (2007 was a transition year out of the smoke crap, so I give him a pass on that.) we are on the bubble to host. A good sign for a down year.
