That's because he knows it is necessary in order to build the relationships with the donors who will ultimately fund his program. LSU is not signing these transfers with money from revenue share alone. Much of it is still coming from "old fashioned" NIL. Speaking at things like this and the companies of wealthy LSU fans/supporters is how those funds are generated.
Contrast that with a hotly, albeit largely ignored debate regarding the men's basketball program and its alleged "lack of funding". A BIG reason for that, to the extent it is accurate, is McMahon does not go out and do much of the glad-handing it takes to fundraise. He doesn't like to do it. Frankly, neither would I. And I doubt Kiffin enjoys doing shite like this either. Same for Mulkey and Johnson. But they do because they know it is necessary. Now, more than ever. Doing very little of it and expected "the school" to handle all of the fundraising is a quick way to failure. Just ask Trent Johnson.

They make the best of it because they know it helps them. When you are working a highly public job that often has you grinding out long ours, I doubt you REALLY want to go speak to a bunch of people which have nothing to do with your job.
