The truth is Bailey could have been on scholarship at a number of schools but had his heart set on LSU. In fact he was as highly rated coming out of HS as the guy who just signed a $50,000,000 contract by the name of Bradford. One scenario would have Bailey receiving a scholarship now to insure he too does not leave.

Horse fricking shite!

True, no spin.

barrett bailey is a local guy who passed on scholarship offers to D-1 schools to walk on at LSU. True Tiger?...loves LSU...these are the type of players who have the potential to be special.

As Miles said today in his press conference after practice...TC would be the third string guy for this year. He has been there a few years. Botom line is it was JJ and JL this year anyway.

bailey: northwestern state

Wait ... the same Northwestern State that Chris Garrett just transferred to? But Chris Garrett was the best QB on the team according to some of the 'tards here.

Sure hope Billy G.improves the passing game enough to attract more QB prospects by years end.

Weather you think he's great or not he might have to be our QB, and I'm going to support him. I saw him play high school ball every Friday night and he's got the potential. With decent coaching he should be ok. He's still out there because he's good enough to be. He wouldn't be on the team if he couldn't handle it.

Go ahead and name all these D1 schools that were killing themselves to sign Bailey...

Look, I'm sure he turned down a scholarship or two to walk on at LSU and I applaud him for that, but you're delusional if you think he'll ever make an impact on the field

Hopefull that our QB's stay healthy this season, and Bailey is able to redshirt, grow, and learn in the program, and possibly contribute in the future. All this doom and gloom for 2012 is BS, so is the hate for our coach. Looking foward to this season.

That's another thing. If he redshirts this year and stays in the program he will have a shot a being in the program 6 years. That should help

I think we will have to wait to see how that will play out...Nostradamus.

I keep hearing how he turned down multiple D1 offers to walk-on at LSU, his rivals profile says his only offer was from northwestern state...

And no I don't boo...what's your point?

Keep searching genius. No not Texas, Alabama, or USC. Do you think it possible, that if a kid has his heart set on his home town school, that some may back off ? He walked on wanting to be a Tiger!

Good enough for me!

While I agree that we'd be in a world of hurt if we had to resort to playing him this year, he was a guy that was dead set on becoming a Tiger. I saw him play in high school, and he's good enough to have received offers if he wanted them. But he made it known that he wasn't interested in anywhere else than LSU, thus doesn't have any other "offers." He could be serviceable eventually and has some skills, but will need some time to develop them.
