Coach O.
He gave us the best college football team EVER.
He was very likeable, and the players would run through a wall for him. I loved his personality. After getting beat by Bama, his reply was, "We commin' and we aint backing down". His comment after beating Bama was "RTWFU". I love that man.

Guys like Brady, had some fluke great seasons. But on the whole none of them were special and it was clear they could not consistently repeat greatness.
We will never k know. Two of Brady's key players were injured in the middle of his last season.
Those players were healthy when his replacement, Johnson, came in, and he won the SEC.
IMO, Brady should have gotten another season.

Pat Henry. No one else is close.
quote:
In 1987, he was hired by LSU for the track and field and cross country teams.[1] In his first year at LSU, he won a national championship, three SEC titles and earned two conference Coach of the Year awards. Henry won 27 national titles, 19 SEC titles, 15 SEC Coach of the Year awards and five National Coach of the Year honors at LSU.[2] He would win both the men's and women's national titles in both 1989 and 1990.[3]
At LSU, he produced 37 Olympians and 38 World Championship competitors during the Henry era, totals that include three Olympic Gold Medalists and five medalists at the World Championships.[4]

Jerry Stovall. Legendary former player who took over at the school he loved when LSU desperately needed him.

What about the year prior when he has 3 starters from the Final Four team return (including the SEC POY - Davis), along with the top bench player from that team and promptly finished last in the SEC West (second to last in the league)?
And the only key player who was injured in 2007-08 was Tasmin. Thornton, Randolph and Temple played all 31 games that season...that was going nowhere with Brady
Is it likely Brady would have had another good year had he not been fired? Sure. He always did. But after 11 years you kind of knew what you have. And with Brady that was inconsistency. Fans and the administration had gotten tired of the roller-coaster. Of course, we didn't know LSU was set to hire the laziest AD in America to tab Brady's replacement.

Of course we didn't. But it should have been predictable.
What have we done in Basketball since then?
