2 RB handoffs in the first the half.
14 total carries for RBs.
How can the defense drop 8 all day? That's how.
This shite is football 101

Bad route running. And/or bad play design.

I don't disagree about the route running. They aren't crisp, seems to be some drift or bunching happening. Too many times you'll see 2 guys very close together.

Sloan is either as terrible as everyone thinks, or we are tipping off our plays. It felt like every running play we ran, Ole Miss moved 7-8 people into the box. Every pass play, they backed up 8 in coverage.
If not, then that failed DC they hired just called a perfect game.
The number of defenders in the box pre-snap is generally going to be driven by the offensive alignment, plus the defensive personnel package (e.g. how many DBs they have on the field).
It’s part of the reason people like to run zone out of spread formations, because the formations give you more space for cutback lanes. When we bring an extra TE out and put him in an H-back look, or when we hand off to the WR and let the RB lead block, that’s gonna bring extra guys into the box. Also when you run gap schemes the LBs and safeties are going to see that and react a bit faster.
Ultimately if you want light boxes to run against, you need to either be productive without extra blockers or you need to be able to burn the defense when they see run and overcommit to it. We haven’t really been able to do either of those things.

All or opponents are dropping 8

When the other team knows our o line is terrible and our QB won’t run, they rush 3 or 4 and drop 7 or 8 in coverage.
Hard for WRs to get open in that setting.

Predictable arse playcalling, the D knows where to be since Sloan calls the same shite again and again.

Not yesterday plus Nussmeier was getting harassed on 3 man rush.

Getting open is a talent, not all receivers possess.

Maybe bc he stares down his first and only target.

Hilton was wide arse open multiple times
Nuss is either hurt or freaking the frick out

lol ole Miss had 8 in the secondary much of the game. They don’t respect the run and Nuss is throwing weak throws yet CBK insists he’s not injured and much better than Van Buren!!!!

Because there are eight guys in coverage. This is the equivalent of less miles running into the eight man box. Now we are throwing into an eight-man secondary because there is no threat of us running the football.
Also, our best receiver by far got hurt in the first half yesterday.

We don’t have any great WRs. Anderson is clearly the best. We have speed guys but nobody that can just get open in space.

Nuss HAS to run when he has a 3 man rush like that. It would have pressured them to not rush only 3, but he refuses too.
Can't imagine how bad the protection would be if they were bringing 4 or 5

Hilton gets open. But needlessly jumps like a goon and drops balls.

Aaron Anderson is the best WR on the team and should be targeted as such, but he's not by Nussmeir. Nussmeir is not looking for him all of the time like a top receiver should be. With Trey'Dez Green and Nussmeir, they should or need to work together after practices because they are nowhere near on the same page. I'm surprised at Garrett Nussmeir really with all of his years passing experience that he doesn't know how to throw to a 6'7 target like that. His passes are terrible to Green, his balls should be 10 to 12 foot high so Green can use his wingspan and size to go up and snatch it. Green needs to work at doing just that.
but yeah this group of receivers I would say is just not as talented as previous groups that consisted of Chase, Jefferson, Nabers, and BT Jr. and others.

I've seen wide open receivers all season. I don't understand those who say they're not getting open. It's just the receivers Nuss chooses to throw to aren't open.

Right. He is locked in on the WR covered by three dudes.
