One thing the Jefferson negatators seem to always forget is that we really didn't have any other options last season. What was Miles going to do? Go to Lee or McCarthy
Uh see Florida and Tenn see game where Lee vastly outplayed Jefferson and was the one who drove the team down the field in both games for winning TD.Of course in the Tenn game JJ came in and did his statue imitation as the clock ran down luckily T-Bob and Dooley saved him.

Jefferson has shown he can play when given the right game plan. Look at the past. His best games were when Crowton had a couple weeks to not come up with a crappy game plan and not call such predictable plays that you could see coming from a mile away.
Uh the play call doesnt cause Jefferson to throw the ball over the receivers head, at his feet, behind him or right into the db's chest. Also JJ's inabliltiy to routinely complete a simple throw as the bubble screen shows just how inaccurate he really is. As far as JJ performing well with 2 weeks or more have you ever thought possibly JJ has issues digesting and learning the gameplan in 1 week and it takes 2 weeks for him to be able to execute it? Crowton didnt seem to have any issues with coming up with good gameplans in 2007 on a weekly basis. Maybe he just didnt simplify it enough for JJ to learn on a weekly basis but how simple does the offense need to be for JJ to grasp in a week??????

What's JJ's W/L record?
He 's done a pretty good job at LSU despite his detractors, a small but very vocal minority. He's at least in the top half of starting QB's in the SEC and if he starts this coming season may end up as the best QB in the SEC. We have a fairly solid backup in JL and a wild card in Mett, who may be the most talented of all 3.

It is obvious I think JJ is a joke as a qb. He couldnt even make the top 10 in qb efficiency in the SEC last year that is outside the top 10 in a league where there are 12 starting qb's?? He was 110th out of 116 in the country in qb rating. You think he is at least in the top half of the starting qb's with a chance to be the best??? Are you sure we are discussing Jordan Jefferson??? I doubt he would be in the running to start at qb at more than 3 or 4 SEC schools and you think he could possibly the best qb in the coneference!!!!!!!

You sure you're an LSU fan Rudy?
What are you going to say "IF" JJ has an option package that scores tds vs Oregon instead of fgs, and if he does play better, well enough to be impressive? I understand you don't expect it, but it really seems like you WANT him to fail. JJ looked much better this spring.
It's too early in the morning to be acting like this.
You are a prime example of a completely spoiled fan.

This is most sensible thing you have ever posted on this topic. The rest of the post totally negated any possible credibility though. He was clearly the worst starter in the SEC last year, and has shown no signs of having the ability to go from worst to first as you seem to think he will do. Krags has a great reputation, but he is not a miracle worker.

JL showed improvement as well last season and that he could probably be a starter at the college level of football in the right circumstances. We go 3 deep at QB now with the addition of Mett.

His detractors? Seriously?
Let me help you understand something. The dislike, bitching, grumblings, negative talk about jj amongst lsu fans is because of one person...jj. It isn't crowtons or poor oline or rbs fault. We aren't racistis and no one has it in from kids from nola/south la players.
JJs play on the field is the resona most fans aren't high on this dude. He is worse today then he was two years ago, throw in the fact that he puts and says stupid shite that DOES NOT reflect leadership, what do expect people to say about him?
The only way jj is gonna get his ship turned around is to let his play on the field do the talking for him.
I for one am not optimistic this is going to happen based on what I have seen and heard from him since he has been involved with this football program and that is why I say ill be glad when his time is done. Jj to a degree has made Lsu football less enjoyable for me personally the last two years.

Rewatch the Alabama and Texas AM games and you will feel much better about yourself as an LSU fan.

First off I see you chose to ignore the majority of the post and settled on the last sentence, which was just my personal opinion. sweet.
Second unfortunalyely for you several players made bama game what it was including jlee and jj. Tam 200 yrda rushing and spender ware somehow looms larger in my mind.

not really. taken in totality, he's been fairly underwhelming and mediocre.
quote:
He's at least in the top half of starting QB's in the SEC
yeah pretty much by default. half the league is breaking in new starters.
quote:

I don't think he'll be the best QB in the SEC, but I do believe he could be All SEC. I expect Aaron Murray to be the best QB, but I'm not sure he'll have the best numbers with his top 2 WRs gone, or a team with as good a record as ours.
I'm optimistic about JJ improving his passing, and still making plays in the running game. so let's say he accounts for 25 total TDs, we're in the NC hunt and there's a "he's so improved from last yr" story about him. he could get some All SEC recognition, but not necessarily be the best QB (if that makes any sense).
and to the OP, yes I think he will barring injury.

why is that unfortunate? Football is a team sport. I do agree with you that Spencer Ware is going to be a very good RB at LSU.

Since when does telling the truth about a player equal bashing? Maybe you should go back a read my first post to you this am, I thougt I cleared things up for you?

I'm only trying to say that winning IS everything.
JJ got worse last year and showed poor poor performance that at times was baffling.
We also have to remember we are LSU....we dont exactly have a history of being QB U and running the football has helped JJ get the majority, if not all, of his wins.
I dont wear #9 jersey to games and weddings but if he wins another 10 games this year he'll have 30 wins for crying out loud.
imjessayin'....

Like I said, both before and after the Spring game I was told by multiple offensive players that JJ is by far the most viable option at QB and he is dramatically improved. I will take their word for it since their success this year hinges on him.

besides what you noted earlier about his running and keeping passing plays alive rather than scrambling, any other areas of improvement that they mentioned?
