inb4 they were all called by miles

According to Crowton's recent interview with the Baltimore Sun, that may have been the case.

i can't have a civil conversation with anyone who thinks that. i just can't.

miles never threw that man under the bus in all his time here. and the first time crowton gets a chance, he puts it on miles.
crowton called the plays. he might have had to stay within the framework of a pro style offense instead of his 5 wide at La tech. but crowton called the plays.

Any contributions from Oregon fans are appreciated. Even though I hate y'all this week, I'm gonna use our mutual loathing of Crowton's playcalling as a sign of solidarity.

I TOTALLY understand....... May my Ducks kick some kitty tail Saturday.

The bad play call on D was the fact there wasn't a second play sent in with JJ. I think the subs on the failed JJ run and trying to run it in was a good call. We simply have a hard time thinking more than one chess move ahead and this is a very common theme with LSU.
Pretty much lines up with what I posted above. The bad call occured before the massive subs.

2007 vs Arkansas...calls the same play 3 times in 3 different OT's...lost us that game with his lack of creativity

The call before the subs was a good call. They should have known what they would call the next play, but that mistake was correctable until . . . they sent in a package change. That call was a horrible call.

Placing a package in there with only one play? Nah, it was the bad part of the scenario. No receivers, a fullback and Ridley. 32 seconds left and no time outs on 3rd down. No pass play was even sent in for that package. It was either run the ball on 3rd and end the game, or place a passing package to get 2 plays off. It was total failure.

A. Crowton calls a screen pass to the middle of the field. It gets stuffed and time runs out.

the same play that worked multiple times already in the same game, and worked to get us down the field in the ole miss and arky games.

quote:

B. he put the game in redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee's hands, who already threw 3 ints. this game, and went for the end zone where it was picked off.

it was 3rd and long and it was a play that worked all 4th quarter. and any play call was better than setting up for the biggest choke artist ever to kick for lsu.

quote:

all LSU has to do is run the ball a few times and kick a FG for the game winner. But Crowton called a pass play where Jefferson dropped back 7 yards or so - he was of course sacked and LSU was out of FG range. This was, imo, worse then the hail mary WTF we actually caught it!! play..

except it was our 4th string tb who saw very limited action to that point. it was still a long fg a throw away from your qb and it's no issue.

no real excuse. just bad all the way around and a mistake. one that he took credit for.

point being, this is stupid.

you can pick apart every single oc/dc throughout 4 years and find the absolute best, and the absolute worst of his playcalling.

the guy's gone, in maryland. why dont yall leave him alone and focus on the oc you do have.

or does that make too much sense?

the whole 09 debacle at ole miss he threw him under the bus all weekend until he was caught on film and took credit the monday. it's the point when you people on the rant went from blaming stud (who yall now love btw) to blaming him.

and he never threw les under the bus, read the article. he said it was les's philosophy to win games in the 4th quarter. then, if anything, had his back when he said, we won 40 games in 4 years.

I don't know what you are talking about. Arkansas and Ole Miss weren't muddy quagmires.

No. That play worked once. Lee was 13-34 vs. Bama that day. At least throw a short pass.

We were within FG range. Jefferson had almost gotten sacked on the same blitz one play earlier. Why take a second chance when a run up the middle sets us up for a game winning FG? What was more likely, getting a TD in the last 40 seconds of the game or kicking a FG. Oh yeah, option C, Miles and Crowton fricked it up!

Honorable Mention -

First offensive play, Georgia 08, 1st and 10 from the LSU 37 -

Pass is called over the middle, (play action I think) with a rattled RS Freshman QB and is intercepted.

Why call that play out of the box? Just seems like a handoff to settle everyone down would've been prudent.
