A lot of people on here seem to have forgotten ( or have rationalized) the train wreck O made of the program after 2019. I can promise you Kiffin hasn’t forgotten. And Lane knows this was be an extremely high risk hire for any position on the staff. Can’t see it happening.

CEO is a great recruiter when someone tells him who to go get.
The problem that we discovered is that he isn't very good at identifying
the player to go get.
His 2 biggest gets here were Burrow and Joe Brady. He went hard after both based on recomendation of others
I believe Kiffin is a really good evaluator of talent and the 2 would work well together

O fricked himself. Covid didn't cause O to LSU on NCAA probation & sanctions even if the sanctions were minor. The investigating firm used by LSU at the time, found situations where O looked & behaved like a real piece of shite when it came to the Drake Davis & Derrius Guice drama.
Also, once key pieces to the staff left after 2019, no other serious talent in the coaching field wanted to hitch their wagon between a HC who was self destructing at the time which is why there were just poor OC & DC hires after Aranda & Brady left.
Then there was the mess that O left behind roster wise with his shitty roster management. As a lame duck, he told recruits to look elsewhere & to not come to LSU.
People like you make every excuse under the sun for O when in reality O did everything to himself & deserved to get fired.
