re: Would Miles make a good AD for us?

no because there are a ton of proven ADs with LSU ties out there. Our next AD should be from a pool of about 3-4 people. Hopefully.

Yes... He would do very well. I've been advocating Les as AD for awhile.
Miles has influence on many platforms; obviously sports leadership throughout the state and nationally, but also politically(last 2 governors seem to be very supportive), and with national media.

Please never post again, much less start a topic on that buffoon.

Would you trust him to hire coaches? Raising money & the PR aspect would be a home run hire, his talent evaluation skills are far below average.
This is a pretty ignorant response knowing Miles' history... He has always been willing to bring in top coaching assistants (ie Aranda).
LSU's talent is second to none even to 'bama when you consider players in the NFL...

Are you out of your freakin mind, OP?

Why is this so difficult for some people?
The job of AD requires a different skill set than the job of head football coach. Even MORE so than the job of head coach requires a different skill set than a DL coach.
Yes, Les is a fine person, a good face for the program. That does not make him qualified to be AD.

He couldn't even fire assistants without his hands tied...

Les' sense of loyalty is one of his biggest strengths. And one of his great weaknesses. It is only one reason why he could never be a good AD.
He is a terrific ambassador for the University.

No, terrible idea.
We're in the 21st Century, not the 20th. AD jobs today are not glorified retirement positions for old football coaches like they were at one time.
If Miles were forced to interview for an AD job, not a single school in America would select him because he's not qualified. And LSU shouldn't either simply because he's an ex-coach.
Move along. LSU's future in football or sports is not dependent on keeping Les Miles around.

Good? maybe.
Better than Alleva? certainly.

Besides, he doesn't "sound like us...."

So you prefer politicians and politically connected appointments as opposed to people who actually know and care about sports?

Heck, he'd do good at Bama. I'm sure him and Saban would get along fabulous.
Posted on 12/19/16 at 11:49 am to Geaux4itall
Les is senile. Let him fade away.
Posted on 12/19/16 at 11:51 am to Geaux4itall
He, and just anyone else on the planet, would be better than the arse-clown we have now.

I want Miles as far as possible from this program
