I bet they wished they had 5 years ago. Now their is so much bad blood there ( not to mention O has a pretty good thing going here ) I doubt either side would entertain the thought.

If you do some research, O said that about Ole Miss too.

It's coach speak.

If some other school/team offered O significantly more money, it would be hard for him to turn it down.

I think USC would want to be a championship contender. If they’ve fallen so far that they’d be content with merely being “better”, that’s pretty sad. Orgeron still has something to prove before he can expect another school with championship aspirations to come after him. He’s got to beat you-know-who. That would demonstrate that maybe he could actually win a championship himself.

Did he give raises to Sumlin? Genuinely asking

He got a big extension after the manziel years in 2013. But he didn’t bite of Sumlin floating his name in the NFL every year

He was furious at the way USC administrators treated him while completing the season and the way Kiffen was fired, literally on the airport runway.

He rage-quit before the bowl because he wasn't given the head coaching job permanently. That's all.

Orgeron literally admitted this...
quote:

“Pat Haden was gracious and kind and generous to me, Sark is a friend who made me an outstanding offer, everyone there has been nothing but classy and professional with me,” Orgeron says. “But it just hurt too bad to suddenly not be their head coach. Maybe me staying for the bowl game, being positive, that could have helped me in the long run, but I was heartbroken and I couldn’t fake it.”

quote:

“I will be a USC Trojan forever, and, I don’t know what they’re thinking, but the door to come back there is always open in my mind,” Orgeron says. “If the right situation comes up this year and they ask me to go back, I’d be more than happy to listen.”
