With all the top buying recently, MSTR's average BTC cost is $61k. Not bad but definitely not as low as one would think. Any fair correction would put a lot of pressure on the stock.

What's the relevance of their BTC cost when the implied price you are buying is like $215K?

MSTX

Is there a reason you chose MSTX over MSTU?

They seem to move at the same rate, so wondering if there is some other factor that differentiates the 2. Thx.

MSTU is a lot cheaper per share so technically can get more shares, but not my #1 concern. Ie...higher fees or harder to sell when I want to (due to volumes, etc). I will admit my top concern as I try to get more into trading is that I try to sell, and for some reason there's no buyer(s). I feel like that's not something to worry about, but "newbie fears".

Just like with those 2 I watch the 2 short ETFs (SMST & MZTZ).

When I first got in in Nov it was in the mid-40k range. Then he bought a bunch when it was in the mid-90s approaching btc breaking 100k, and that moved their cost basis into the mid-50k range. Now it came out he bought a bunch more that averaged in the 101k range, so now per what you said it's total costs at 61k. Seems about right.

Now how he plans to use it when he feels he has enough is still a head scratcher for me.

He cannot issue ATM offerings a certain amount of days from an earnings release. I believe its something like 40 days of a "blackout"

Got it. "the more you know". Thanks for the info. This is the kind of "strategic" tidbits I'm trying to pick up and learn from being on here.

Yes. I owned MSTU at $61. Sold it around $250(can't remember the exact.. will look it up).

So I went with MSTX to continue to sell calls on because it, at the time was cheaper.

MSTU just had a 10:1 split and I will buy it soon.

Thanks. Didn't know about the split.

I wonder if a split like that on a 2X ETF affect anything on how it behaves in regard to the stock it rides. Seeing NVDA slow down after it's last big split makes me wonder, though I know it's different than an ETF. Iirc Apple also slowed down after it's last big split.

I put in an MTSU order this morning after the morning drop, and ended up triggering. Picked some up @ $14.90 when it dropped at the end of day. MSTR was in the $390.35ish range

Ended up down a .10, but I think I got in at solid price for now.

Anyone understand the Aftermarket?

So in the AF MSTR ended up .77% up, but MSTU ended .41% down. Why is that? Would think it would end up up like MSTX did @ 1.15%.

I know I know over thinking it, volatile stocks, but just trying to better understand to know how to look at things. Not as seasoned as most of you. TIA.

Not an expert but I believe since mstu is a “daily 2x long” etf, the price only correlates during the day (market open)

That can make some sense.

Looking forward to seeing how it behaves in JAN, with others had said about the 49 day hold on BTC purchases, which has definitely seems to have weighed the prices down.

Not a hold on BTC purchases. A hold on using the ATM process for raising funds to buy BTC. He will likely shift to issuing convertible debt during that timeframe which is not dilutive and allowed during that blackout window

And it makes sense if you think about it. If you do the ATM first, you build the asset base to support the added debt. Also, your terms are likely more desirable on the debt.

And although the $21B/$21B timeline was sped up, I’m not sure the desired split has changed. That makes me think that he could rip through the convertible debt VERY quickly and obtain a LOT of coins very soon. Then, he announces phase 2 during February’s earnings call.

Well I was wrong.

Definitely wasn't expecting it to drop 7%+ first thing the next morning. I don't care about it being down, as much as, the quick "slap in the face" after trying to research it. Oh well.

You nerds have me completely lost when you get into the weeds. Such a love/hate thing for me as I'm trying to learn, but so much is way over my head.

Has what a phase 2 will be been announced or an idea of what it can be?

I created a thread about what's expected from the fed announcement, but wanted to keep it neutral.

What are peoples thoughts on how a cut should affect MSTR and BTC? What if an increase comes down instead?

It's essentially random and is eventually going down a lot (unless BTC goes up a lot, and even then, maybe still).

Big Scrub is a "anti" MSTR and BTC.

Just a heads up on that.

Are you selling calls? I ask because I do, and it helps when a stock dips. I'm in MSTU again at $15.01. I sold a call for $73. So, I'm down only $25ish
