I don't know man. If you like bitcoin, just buy bitcoin. Paying 2-3X for it is the definition of insanity.

Just thought I would mention again that bitcoin vol is only 50ish, while MSTR is 150ish. That's the play.

That said, you guys going are levering an already levered play. It's going to wipe most of you out.
Im getting that feel. Why I'm trying to notice the ups/downs and wanting to go in and out quickly with the up/down ETFs.
I just need to teach myself to execute quicker, and get over the greed of trying to squeeze as much out of it as possible, be happy with what i can get by not chasing runs, and diamond hands. Things I know I need to improve and working on.

Here’s my understanding of what’s really going on with this stock.
Saylor has a growing reserve of Bitcoin. He essentially runs a volatility casino on top of that asset base. The rake is used to buy more bitcoin which accretes back to the shareholders.
If you buy the bonds you are buying the ability to trade the volatility and collect a premium.
If you are a retail trader jumping in and out, a leveraged degen, or someone buying because they want exposure to bitcoin because they can’t buy it directly, you are the casino patron.
If you buy and hold, you’re owning the bitcoin as a base plus a portion of the casino operation. You may or may not beat bitcoin long term.
All three groups contribute to the ecosystem and put enormous buy side pressure on bitcoin.

I'm still on the train that this BTC bump today is Saylors last big buy before he gets put on pause Thurs/FR

If MSTR is essentially in your gambling bucket, then that's fine..but I would request you continue to make htat clear to onlookers here.

Like he said, your gambling money
Posted on 12/24/24 at 2:49 pm to beaverfever
It kind of started out as my gambling money

Yes, the opportunity is there it's still early, But I think you guys are overthinking this whole thing, If you're a believer in BTC and believe it's going higher much higher than how could you not want to be in MSTR. Saylor is on a rampage to acquire as much BTC as possible here in the last 7 weeks alone he has acquired 1.2 years' worth of BTC. It is as if he knows the game theory is going to pick up in 2025.

Kind of a short term bump eh?
Lets see how 2025 plays out to determine if you were correct or not. Pretty much everyone in here is buying MSTR for a longer term than a month

Merril lynch (bank of america) self directed brokerages in a 401k doesn’t allow purchases of bitcoin ETFs.
MSTR is one of the few instruments available for bitcoin exposure.
