I'm still on board, but also believe if Mintak were still on board he would be petitioning for another shutdown.

It’s always been a long term hold for me.

Me as well. I bought my first batch of shares in 2020 and stayed in until this year. My window for big adventures with spec plays is coming to a close, want an early retirement. The timeline of this STILL BEING 2+ years out no longer fits into my plans.

Down over 10% to green. That’s quite a ride.

And now back the other way. This stock is something else.

I sold my shares and will buy back around 3 if it gets there, good luck to all

Smackover, realistically any movement on this stock until production will be partnership or news driven until the facility or contracts are released. Is that a fair assumption?

I think that is a fair assessment. We might drift up a little from analyst upgrades, but the dilution did dial that back by a little over 17% assuming the issuers exercise their options.

Smack, do you hear any rumors on the demonstration plant and the future of SLI and Lanxess?
Im curious as to if this a potential wildcard. Theoretically, they could start production for sale with their current setup right? Lanxess already has the brine rights correct?

They can’t sell from their current setup because the royalty that was given was for a brine unit located within the SWA territory. There isn’t a royalty set for the Lanxess area at this time

Could Lanxess sell through their existing leases? Ill admit im not smart enough to know how all this would work.

No! There is no royalty set except for the first planned commercial plant.

Basically
1. Landowner lets Lanxess extract their brine
2. Lanxess is required to compensate landowner for what's in the brine
3a. Lanxess pays landowner a royalty for the brine itself
3b. Lanxess pays landowner a royalty for the bromine in the brine
3c. Lanxess cannot pay landowner a royalty for the lithium in the brine until there's a lithium royalty amount set for that specific region, so Lanxess can't sell the lithium
PS they would make next to nothing even if they could sell the tiny amount being produced at the Lanxess site

Thank you for helping me understand. I wonder if the demonstration plant is scalable to production levels.
Reason I ask is because I was reading the press release by Lanxess in 2022 and one of the options was that SLI could build a production plant on one of their 3 sites and sell at a preferred rate.
Link below from Lanxess' website:
Lanxess Press Release
Im trying to figure out if im buying more of this stock and I'm trying to figure out if a Lanxess offtake could be a black swan.
Edit: just wanted to say I did know that the FID is for their own plant at a different location.

I’m guessing whatever the prospects of the China deal means lithium from overseas is causing prospects here to go down today?
