Anyone think we get news this week on off-takes or contract announcements?

If we dont get news this week, I may be tempted to do a WSB style play on some Jan 16exp $7 calls.

Korea Zinc Management Dispute Update
quote:
With the JV for US smelter construction participating in Korea Zinc’s capital increase and acquiring a 10.84% stake (2,209,716 shares), significant changes are expected in the management dispute going forward. Above all, since the JV with the US Department of War participating as a major shareholder now holds shares in Korea Zinc, there is a possibility that Korea Zinc could be classified as a US security asset in the future. In this case, analysis suggests that hostile mergers and acquisitions (M&A) attempted by the Young Poong-MBK alliance could become more difficult.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 with commercial operation starting in 2029. This facility plans to produce 13 types of metals including zinc, gold, silver, antimony, and indium, as well as sulfuric acid for semiconductors.
They don't mention it directly in the above quote...but it would be a source of Germanium to supply Lockheed Martin.

Nows the time to drop some good news!!

For a day like today, and a massive announcement on the horizon, this board sure is very quiet. I know its not time to pop the corks yet, but geez this place is deader than Clinton's election night party.

Sumbitch hit $5.45 yesterday after hours and it's red in premarket today.
So damn volatile.
So damn volatile.

It really is. We need positive FID news and off takes to maybe get rid of some of these shorts!

FID is so close. Its like we are all sitting in the auditorium waiting for the lights to dim.
When it happens, its going to happen very fast and violent.

Temper expectations on the FID announcement.
I believe FID should be largely baked in already. It’s not going to be a big move (at least I wouldn’t think).
Offtake agreements will be a bit more impactful, in my opinion.

Can you have an FID without offtakes? I was under the impression that financing (thus the FID) is dependent on the offtake agreements. To get the 1 billion loan, you need to prove future income right? Thats why they cant mention anything about offtakes until the financing is done.
Wouldn't it all have to be delivered in one big package?

That the news is already baked in fits SLI’s history.

Agree. If it's an irrational spike, I may sell come long term shares and buy back at a lower price. We've been prone to some crazy short term action. Like the day they announced they were uplisting to the NYSE. Went from like $2-3 to $9. Always happens when I'm working and can't get away to do anything.

Those of us who have felt the pain don’t respond as over a fifty cent nice either way. We take it all in stride and have the scars. No need to post about such moves constantly. When I build a pool in a few years, I’ll put SLI on the tiles celebrating the long term victory that paid for it.

Lithium prices have been spiking lately. At their highest mark since November 2023 and still going.

Seeking Alpha
Summary
Standard Lithium is rated a Strong Buy, driven by its discounted valuation and significant upside as EV-driven lithium demand accelerates.
SLI's South West Arkansas Project, with 1.5 million tonnes LCE and $1.7B NPV, targets commercial production by 2028 and industry-leading cost efficiency.
SLI maintains a healthy, low-debt balance sheet, funding growth via equity; further dilution (5-10%) is likely before revenue generation begins.
Key risks include lithium price volatility and potential market oversupply, but SLI's strategic positioning in the Smackover Formation offers substantial long-term value.
Investment Thesis
I’ve made it no secret that I like to cover the mineral industry, given the recent track record I have of articles published on the site. Rare earth minerals is one highly niched and capital-intensive market where not all will be winners. Aluminum is another high-growth marker, especially seeing as premiums have risen because of US tariff implementations. One market I find particularly interesting, perhaps above all these, is Lithium. It’s the engine that will enable further EV adoption. The most famous EV entrepreneur, Elon Musk, even stated this about the mineral: “license to print money.”
Seeing as there is still upside for lithium prices supported by the EV adoption accounting for 90% of lithium demand, I think that Standard Lithium (SLI) is a Strong Buy here. As we’ll get into in the article, it trades at a large discount to future cash flows, one of many qualities that makes it a top stock for me in 2026.

This is the only thing I can find posted today about SLI. Probably AI generated. Says the FID will be released first half of 2026….
LINK
market participants are now closely watching for the Final Investment Decision (FID) on the SWA project, expected in the first half of 2026. A positive decision would serve as a major catalyst, confirming the move into construction and toward eventual production.
From a technical standpoint, the stock is currently testing support levels near $4.90 after retreating last week. If this level holds and firmer lithium prices are sustained, a renewed attempt to reach the resistance zone around $5.20 would be a plausible chart-based scenario. Concurrently, further clarification of the financing package and the FID timeline will likely shape how the market values Standard Lithium in the weeks ahead.
